James's professionalism put me at ease and I felt confident in his ability to represent me during my court appearance. Everything about the process felt organized and well-managed, and I have no reservations recommending his services.

I don't know if its possible for a criminal case to be a positive experience, but if so, working with James made it about as bearable as possible.
Highly Recommended for a number of reasons. I am an artist and was arrested for graffiti in Brooklyn, I was referred his among a few others' services after asking my public defender at arraignment (court demanded private counsel for me). I went in for a consultation and it became clear James did not know this public defender who had recommended him - which I saw as a very good sign attesting to his reputation.
James was able to get my charges reduced in a way that, to me, was nothing short of magical. I personally know people who have been charged with the same infractions, and they did not receive anywhere near the same outcome I received with James' services. His knowledge and professionalism saved me a small mountain of time and money. There are a few reasons I would suggest his services to anyone in a similar situation.
First off, he's smart - was very knowledgable yet also pragmatic and focused when discussing the outcomes surrounding my case. Second, he's sociable and extremely alert. As odd as it sounds, this was, in my estimation, probably the most crucial element of getting the deal I got - he scheduled an informal meeting with the district attorney and as he put it, "for the price of a cup of coffee", was able to reach a better deal for me, getting misdemeanors dropped down to a violation, reduced punishment, etc. The deal ended up working out even better down the road, once again because of his knowledge of the court's daily operations and day-to-day players. He seemed to know everyone in the courtroom at the time and genuinely care about them on a personal level.
Last, he's affordable, and it was immediately obvious to me that he is not concerned about price gouging. In my specific case he helped me with a few details post-sentence that went above and beyond our retainer agreement. He didn't have to do that. As Goethe said, "You can judge a man's character by how he treats someone with whom he has nothing to gain."
Also, he's got great style. Couldn't be happier with his services or recommend him more highly. To put it colloquially, he rules.

I was supposedly going 69 in a 50 mph highway (grand central). I honestly have no idea how this particular officer was able to scan my car out of all the vehicles, which were by the way, going at the same speed as mine. But magically he zoomed in and stopped me, I am now facing 4 points on my license and a higher insurance rate. After calling several law firms and not receiving any answers or call backs, I finally found James Hall Medows, who to my surprise answered right away! No secretaries, no call backs no nothing! I explained that I received a speeding ticket and after asking me some questions and disclosing his fee, he proceeded to let me know what would happen and the possibilities of losing or winning the case. I appreciated his honesty from the beginning and also his knowledge in such cases. I will be using his services and I will also post a review once the case has been closed. So far, Mr. Medows has been extremely helpful!

This was my 1st time using a lawyer to fight a moving violation ticket and I will definitely do it again. My court date was the Friday of the nyc blizzard. He told me don't worry about anything but preparing for the storm. His plan was to get the date changed but actually just ended getting it dismissed. Unfortunately I have another ticket to fight in court but I'm looking foward to using James meadows services again.
