No points

I'm very pleased with the services of Michael Palumbo. He got 2 tickets reduced to parking violations with no points against my license. His office took care of everything involving the court appearance.

Retainer

Don't pay the $1500 retainer he pushes on you from the beginning!! Ask for "Free"consultation instead. I paid the $1500 and then he came up with astronomically high fees to go to court that I couldn't afford. So now I'm out of my $1500. Go somewhere else!!

Peter, this is a very dishonest review. I did not push anything on you, and you know it. I have all of our communications starting in August 14, 2020 when you first called me belly aching that you could not get your license reinstated because of your numerous DWI arrests and convictions, which started in 1998 and continued through 2016 when the State of New York had enough of you and permanently revoked your license. I told you in 2020 that I had to do a detailed investigation and analysis of your driving history and consult you on what could be done to vacate enough convictions to sanitize what turns out to be a horrific conviction record so that you can re-apply with a conviction history that allows the DMV to re-issue your license. Doing that investigation and analysis, and giving you the consultation is WORK Peter, and clearly you have no respect for anyone's skill or time. I first sent you the retainer to do the work in 2020, you didn't hire me, and I forgot all about you. You then called again in October of 2021 and I had to listen to yet another stream of consciousness as to why your bad choices were everyone else's fault, and told you again that I could not consult and advise you as to what could be done unless you hired me to do the work, and again sent you the retainer. You again did not hire me in 2021, and in August of 2022 called for a 3rd time. With that call, I gave you a 3rd free consultation, but as I told you that time and the two previous times, there is no way I could answer questions specific to your case without you hiring me to do the research and analysis. This time the light bulb must have went off in your grey matter, because you hired us. You did so by signing a contract which had the following content: "You are retaining our office for the limited purpose of researching for you with the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles your present driving history, and consulting you on the entirety of your driving history and providing you with a resolution strategy to potentially obtain / renew driving privileges in NY State, and to also advise you of how many points currently reflect on your NYS abstract. This service includes our office obtaining from the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles your NYS driving abstract and / or lifetime driving history. Also provide us with a copy of your driver’s license and / or NYS ID Card or out of state license or ID Card. For this service you have agreed to pay a flat fee of $1,500.00." Peter, I could not have been more transparent, and you SIGNED that contract. If you did not want us to do the work, you should not have hired us to do the work. Within 24 hours I had reviewed your driving history, and given you a detailed analysis of the facts of your driving history and how the rules and regulations applied to your rather lengthy conviction history, and advised you on what you needed to do to vacate enough convictions so that you could re-apply to get your license reinstated. I gave this consultation to you professionally in the form of a memorandum of law and answered any remaining questions you had. I also gave you my price for doing the numerous proceedings that you would have need to have done and yes, they are expensive because they take a professional lifetime of skill, knowledge, and know how to do, and I am very successful at doing them. Numerous clients have gotten their licenses reinstated due to my efforts, and my fees, while expensive, are more then fair. However as I also told you, you could take my written analysis to other lawyers and you would find price quotes from those lawyers for more and less then what I quoted. After I completed 100% of the work you did hire me to do, you had the gall to asked for your money back. I only wish I had a crystal ball to ensure that I avoid clients like you. Dealing with you is like trying to teach a pigeon how to play chess - no matter what you do they are going to just knock over the pieces and crap all over the board.

Amazing!

Michael fought - and beat! - my 8 point, thousand dollar fine, and insurance-raising ticket. Thank you so much for all you did Michael, you were really amazing and I will recommend you everywhere I go!

Michael Palumbo was more expensive but worth it!

I was cited for a traffic violation in New Rochelle and wanted to fight it. I'm also an attorney, but don't know any traffic attorneys and was googling and calling/consulting many attorneys in the area. Michael Palumbo charged more than some other attorneys that I found. When he told me about his ...approach and the results he thought he could get with my case, I decided to go with him. I'm glad I did. He was very responsive. When I was a bit slow getting some documents to him, he was not afraid to provide some tough love to encourage me to move things along. He was also able to reduce my traffic citation to a 0 point non-moving violation. If I need help again I'll turn back to him, and I recommend him.

Never Hire This Guy

This guy is a colossal slimeball. Takes your money. Greatly misrepresents what he will do for you. Promised me savings and did not deliver according to the terms we discussed, but he sure cost A LOT! Find a different attorney!! This guy is a waste of time.

I wish I had a crystal ball so that I could avoid arrogant, unreasonable, and and entitled clients like you. John is a 28 year old man-child. Like many of my clients had an EZ Pass issue, but unlike many of my clients the problem was not caused by EZ Pass or an understandable mistake but by him. For over a year, with no rational explanation, he failed to pay over 350 tolls. Perhaps he thought the Toll Paying Fairy was paying his bill IDK. When you fail to pay a toll you get mailed a bill. So he ignored 350 bills. After a while they suspend your vehicle registration, but before that the DMV sends a warning letter. Ignored. Living in his fantasy land of not taking accountability, he continued to drive a vehicle with a suspended registration. on March 26, 2022 he was arrested for just that. His court date was June 15, 2022, and living up to his reputation as Mr. Irresponsible, he waits until June 14, 2022 to call me in a panic. He told me that he owed $7,000 in violations, and $3,000 in tolls. I was VERY SPECIFIC when I asked him if the $7k was the gross amount of the violations, or if it was the reduced amount. He told me that it was the gross amount. Based on his representation, I told him that the MTA is currently reducing the gross violation amount by 80%, so that is what I anticipated that I could get for him, plus also get him on a payment plan. He hired me by signing a brief, two paragraph contract. However, the MTA, they told me, and sent me the spreadsheet, that the gross amount of the violations was $35k, not $7k as I had asked him ad nauseam. In other words, he incorrectly told me that the $7k was the gross violation amount, and in his world of immaturity and irresponsibility this is my fault. I completed the work by getting him a payment plan and giving him detailed, written & verbal step by step instructions on how to execute on the payment plan and get his vehicle's registration suspension lifted. I expedited the work, doing it in the same day he hired me so that he would have the information for his court appearance the following day. He asked me to represent him in court as well, and I told him that it would be very expensive but that he did not need to hire a lawyer and I gave him a verbal tutorial on how to represent himself. The man-child was a bumbling, blubbering bundle of stupidity, arrogance, and nerves, and I could have easily talked him into hiring me for a fee of thousands of dollars for his court case, but I didn't do that I explained to him what to do and saved him thousands. Does that sound like a slime ball to you? After I had settled everything and the emergency was over, he wants his money back. What this entitled baby doesn't seem to have the grey matter to comprehend was that he is not entitled to a refund because of misinformation he provided that I relied upon. After the work has been performed, he attempts to re-define it as an agreement to reduce the $10k owed to something less. That was never the agreement. The agreement was a comprehensive contract to negotiate a reduction of what he owed from the GROSS amount, negotiate a payment plan, and to explain to him how to execute on the payment plan, which will then lead to getting his vehicle registration suspension lifted. I also provided him additional services in training him on how to represent himself in court, and also explained and showed him how to pay future tolls online before they accrue violations for untimely payment. The only slime ball here is John, for intentionally not paying his tolls, expecting me and you to support his expenses, continuing to drive under suspension, and attempting to damage my reputation. But you don't have to believe me. I have the entire file in which I can show you the contract he signed, quality and quantity of my work, as well as his accusatory and nasty e-mails to me showing his true character. I would be happy to share so that you can judge for yourself which one of us is the slime ball.
