Given the reputation of the Staten Island Traffic Court's decisions, I thought I was fighting a losing battle. I received a speeding ticket on SI. It was postponed by the court and finally it was scheduled for almost 18 months after the incident date. I haven't received a moving violation on over 30 years and had a clean abstract. It was 75 in a 40 on the Staten Island Expressway. Any good lawyer could have g...ot it reduce in the speed based on my record. Instead, nothing. An 8 point ticket, over $300 fine and that NYS driver assessment nonsense another$450. Tag on her $350 fee. That's $1,100. I personally believe she doesn't care, it's easy sucker money for her. I won't elaborate to much, but an attorney I hired in NJ on something got a reckless driving, 5 point dismissed and a speeding ticket speed reduced to make it two points. Bottom line, find a attorney with knowledge.
