Darren graduated summa cum laude from Bethany College in 1996, where he studied psychology and economics. He subsequently earned his Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School in 1999.
His legal background includes service as a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph H. Rodriguez of the United States District Court and nvolvement with the Domestic Violence Practice and Reform Project during law school, and upon graduation completed a clerkship in the Family Part of the Superior Court of New Jersey in Monmouth County. He also gained experience working as a law clerk Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
