Be willing to do the work yourself

My experience was terrible. Richard tried to get me to settle for 16.67% less than what my settlement resulted. His initial approach " you should settle for $2000 because you could walk away with nothing at court." I replied, "if I don't deserve what I thought, then I was meant to walk with nothing."... Richard's response "You would rather walk away with nothing than guarantee $2000, its $2000 more than you had." " I said i was confident in all the work I had done and wished to move forward." I had documented everything that happened to me and was ready to stand up to my employer. I fought the fight and was the one with facts and numbers for the employees' lawyers to dispute. I used his degree but fought for the extra 16%, feel free to do the math and see the loss I would have taken. Then on top when it came time for taxes, he agreed with the ex-employers' lawyers to let them claim$1600 of my money as a write off, however it was not taxable income, and that money should have been mine. He tried to tell me my tax accountant messed things up which was a sneaky move as well. He had used it to his benefit not his clients in making a deal. I used the money I did receive to start up my own gym and that dream would not have been reality if the settlement was handled Richard's way.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
