Aside from divorce having been one of the most excruciatingly painful experiences in my life, it was also one of the most vulnerable. Not only was I devastated that my long-term marriage was ending, I was terrified at the prospect of having to navigate through a legal system that was completely forei...gn to me. Initially, I selected a large well-known firm to represent me and being in uncharted waters, I did whatever I was instructed to do. Being vulnerable in the wrong hands can be costly - emotionally and financially. My adversary in the divorce matter was a highly educated, extremely successful and skilled litigator; a formidable foe. However, it was not my litigious former husband that was nearly my undoing; it was the unsavory character of the big firm lawyers I had hired and their too-often unethical approach to practicing law that compounded my agony and invited excessive, prolonged and contentious litigation. I was happy to have Carolyn as my divorce lawyer, she is very knowledgeable about the matrimonial law and gives quick and accurate advise on specific and intricate situations that you might be going through.
