Biography
I help individuals, families, and counsel navigate family law matters by bringing clarity to complex situations, identifying practical options, and creating a sound path forward.
After 30 years in family law, including substantial litigation experience, I have come to believe that while litigation has an important place, it is not always the best path to the best outcome. In many cases, mediation, arbitration, and thoughtful strategic counsel offer people more control, more privacy, and a better opportunity to resolve difficult issues in a way that truly serves their long-term interests.
My practice is increasingly focused on mediation, arbitration, and strategic family law guidance, particularly in complex financial matters and high-conflict cases. I work with clients and counsel to identify the real issues, evaluate their options, and develop practical solutions that move matters forward with as little unnecessary conflict as possible.
Clients often come to me not only for legal advice, but because I help them make sense of difficult situations. They tell me that I bring a combination of directness, calm, and compassion to the process. I am known for being direct, thoughtful, and solution-oriented, and for helping people move from uncertainty and conflict toward clarity and informed decision-making. Whether a matter is resolved through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation, my goal is always the same: to help clients make sound decisions and achieve the best possible outcome under the circumstances.
I am certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney, a Fellow and past President of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and a trained mediator and AAML-certified arbitrator. I also speak and write on family law, mediation, arbitration, ethics, and strategic approaches to resolving complex family disputes.
