I was charged with a felony OUI, felony habitual offender and theft of a motor vehicle and Attorney Bly beat the case at trial.

I spent nearly 60 days in jail before my family bailed me out. Attorney Bly filed a writ for habeas corpus due to the fact that the Sheriff held me illegally. Once I was out, I met with my family and Attorney Bly to discuss my case. I've used a number of attorneys in the past five years and none o...f those attorneys had the guts to take my cases to trial. All of them had advised me to plead guilty in the past and as a result, I was in a very difficult position and facing a felony charge. Attorney Bly brought a professional photographer onto the case to photograph and video the Old Port which is where I was accused of driving. He also brought a top notch private investigator on board to interview the State's witnesses. The trial lasted 2 days and I was facing a mandatory 3 year jail sentence. The jury came back with a verdict of NOT GUILTY. I've never been more stressed out and then relieved about anything in my life. The only people who believed in me were my family and Attorney Bly. He never questioned my innocence and never tried to get me to plead guilty. I thank God that Attorney Bly came into my life. He kept me and my family informed during the entire process. When necessary, he would meet with me at night or on the weekends. Whenever I needed him, he was there for me. Thank you Attorney Bly! I owe you.

Outstanding and Very Professional

Unfortunately about 5 months ago I was arrested for an OUI. This was my first time ever being involved with the law and at first had no idea where to turn. I had a chance about 2 days after my incident to meet and talk with Attorney Bly who was able to provide me all the steps involved in my case. ...After talking with him I felt very confident that he would be able to handle my case and help me through the entire court process. After my DMV hearing I was informed by Attorney Bly that he got my driving privlages back and that I would not face any suspension regarding the DMV portion of my case. After a couple more stressful months of waiting on the court process to continue and wondering what was going to happen he was able to strike a deal with DA without my case even going to trial. The deal presented to me was better than I was expecting and there was no way I could turn it down. These last 5 months have been very stressful on myself and my family and my confidence in Attorney Bly handling my OUI case showed in his ability to work well with the courts, giving me all the information I needed and making sure I knew every step of the process. Attorney Bly was always available for any questions I had, he worked hard and has a very dedicated and professional staff at his office. If you are looking for a great attorney I would highly recommend Attorney Bly to handle your case!

The best choice I could have made:

When faced with an OUI accusation and being from out of state; I did not knowing where to turn; the best thing I did was contacting the office of Neilson and Bly. From my first conversation with the competent and compassionate office staff; I knew I was in the right place. The process is very comp...licated and sometimes it felt like a roller coaster ride. With each step of the process Bill Bly was right there fighting for my rights with confidence and outstanding expertise. He knew my case inside and out which was clearly the result of his extensive preparation. I was impressed with his straightforward assessment of my situation and clear outline of my choices. I am so glad I followed his advice. My case went all the way to trial and I could not have asked for a better outcome.

OUI

Its unfortunate that in the past i have had experience with numerous attorneys.From high line 1000 dollar an hour firms down to the local attorney at 100 dollars an hour.Some good..some bad..some amazing.Upon recieving my OUI,which i may add was a breathalizer refusal i called probably twenty differe...nt firms.Not being from the area my knowledge was minimal at best.I asked around and was told to call two specific major firms in portland..which i did.After getting off the phone with them i realized my five grand was more important than myself.Which at times the bigger firms tend to approach the courts with their big name and not the real work needed to win.I know this after spending twenty five thousand and recieving very poor representation which left me in a poor situation that could of been avoided.Upon spending two minutes on the phone with Bill i knew i found somebody i felt comfortrable handling my situation.From A-Z i couldn't at any point have asked for a better attorney.All my questions were answered.My calls were returned promptly and the wealth of knowledge on oui defense was amazing.Which carried into the courtroom as the da spit a deal at us i couldn't refuse prior to our suppression hearing.There was no trail,but had we went i'm confident we would of beat them in the court room.My situation just didn't allow a chance of losing my licsense..which i may add i didn't.Nor was my insurance or driving record affected at all.Normally,i wouldn't write a review of this nature,but honestly i just hate to see people make a mistake and suffer for it by making a bad choice in terms of representation.local law enforcment and the court systems are out to hang people these days.Don't hang yourself by hiring an attorney thats not competent.You can hire a cheaper attorney,but i promise your gonna pay for it later.I highly recommend Bill Bly for oui defense.

I fully recommend Attorney Bly

I wholeheartedly recommend Attorney William Bly for anyone in need of an attorney to represent him/her in a DUI case. I hired his partner, Attorney Chris Nielsen, to handle my DUI defense in November of 2008. Attorney Nielsen was unable to attend my Suppression Hearing, so Attorney Bly represented ...me on his behalf. I could not have asked for a more professional and prepared defense. He attacked my case like it was his own. Prior to the hearing, he asked if I had any questions and prepared me for what was going to happen. His confidence, and obvious knowledge of DUI law, comforted me during a difficult time and I was assured that I was receiving the best defense possible. As a result of his determined, aggressive, honest, experienced approach to my case (both in preparation for trial and in courtroom proceedings), I received a favorable outcome without even having to go to trial. Attorney Bly has an ease in navigating complex fact patterns that give the impression that what he does is easy; I know that I am lucky to have had the good fortune of having such a passionate, intelligent, ethical and driven advocate that ensured a successful outcome. I cannot thank him enough. I trust his judgment, I trust his ethics, and I highly recommend him.
