I hired Nan Bucknell recently to help me through a very tough situation with the DMV. She was kind, compassionate and extremely supportive. Her attention to detail is amazing as she really takes the time to learn all the facts before offering a solution. She carefully walked me through each step of the process and provided suggestions to what would hopefully improve the overall outcome of my situation. She was honest the entire way and prepared me for what could be the worst case but also encouraged me to believe in the best case ending. It was with Nan's help that I was able to fix the situation with DMV, retain my driving privileges and move on from what has been a horrible year of my life.
Although I hope to never need her services again :) I would in no doubt hire her in a heartbeat!

As the title states, she truly is a queen(including outside of her practice). I was involved in a hit-and-run and was arrested in another area for public intoxication. Both cases could've been combined but thanks to Nan, she knew how to play the cards right and they were completely separate cases(no DUI). It is what she does best after all. I'll admit I'm still a kid and I had no idea what to do, I just didn't want to go to jail or have a record but after researching and consulting with her(free), my mind was at ease throughout the process. Long story short, I trusted(and still do) Nan with my life and followed her game plan. My public intoxication arrest case was completely dismissed and my hit-and-run case was brought down to an infraction(failure to exchange info at scene). Knowing when your court is without you being there is a scary thing. Nan kept me updated every time something happened. She is also very loving and treats you like family. I will not hesitate to recommend her to anyone I know. I cannot thank her enough. Thank you again, Nancy!

I was involved in an unfortunate DUI incident which also involved a bodily injury of another party. Nan was very supporting and helpful throughout the entire process and ensured me that everything would be fine. I was very high demanding with high expectations and had exchanged 100s of e-mails with Nan throughout the course of over a year to get everything resolved - DUI and restitution. I asked many, many questions to best understand every aspect of my situation and she was very clear on everything.
She went above and beyond in helping me lower the penalty of my DUI (community service days) and also working to help me get the judge to waive my restitution amount and was also able to get restitution fees waived (due to my insurance pay out to the victim). Nan went the extra mile and returned to court for my case multiple times. Never once did I have to make an appearance in court. She would always contact me before going into court and afterwards so that I was informed every step of the way.
I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a DUI attorney. She will do her best in helping her clients to get the best possible outcome. She did all in her power to save me as much money as possible - and the outcome was great. Saved thousands of dollars in the end. Thank you, Nan!

I was lucky enough to find Nan when I got myself into trouble. She was extremely knowledgeable and conscientious. Additionally, Nan knew exactly what I would have to go through in terms of community service hours, court documentation and scheduling requirements. I would have been lost without her assistance. Finally, her fees were reasonable for the offense to be dealt with. I couldn't recommend her more highly.

I had walked in to court and pled no contest to a DUI and got a full sentence. I didn't have representation, so I called Nan to see if there was anything I could do. I called to set up a meeting and at first she said she might not be able to help me, but the more details I gave her, the more she started to realize that I got screwed over by the County. So I hired Nan and she went to speak directly with the DA supervisor and had my case repealed withing 5 minutes. After that we went to court and she had my DUI reduced to a wet wreckless. Not only did she get my DUI reduced to a wet wreckless, but she also had my fees reduced by $1000, and I no longer needed to do community service, or the 3 month program, but instead a 12 hour class.
She was also responsive, giving me a call, text, or email back within 15 minutes. If I had not seeked out her counseling, I would be stuck with a DUI on my record, and have community service, and higher fees to pay. Im extremely happy i seeked out her counsel or i wpuld of been left screwed over.

Amazing lawyer. I brought her a hopeless case. I had multiple priors and should have been on my way to prison. She somehow plea bargained it down to a misdemeanor and I ended up doing no jail time and only one year of probation and supervision by a judge. She went way above and beyond and ended up having to make far more court appearances than I'm sure she anticipated, but she never complained or tried to charge me extra. Very nice person, you get the sense she cares about you and the outcome of your case - or at least I did. Would recommend her in a heartbeat if one of my friends or family needed a criminal defense lawyer.

I have an extensive criminal record all from past stupid mistakes. Once I "grew up" and realized that I needed to become the man I knew I could be I changed my life around.
Recently I had an argument with my wife and the police were called. I was immediately arrested for domestic battery (I think mostly due to myself having two strikes) and went to jail. I bailed out of jail and immediately started looking for an attorney. I talked to a few and they all seemed like they were ready to plea bargain with the DA. After talking to Nan, I knew she was the one I would go with. She actually talked to me like a human and seemed genuinely concerned about my case. That's all I needed! I hired her on the spot! She talked with my wife and found out the truth in the case and worked with us to eventually have the DA discharge the case! Nan is truly a nice person and great attorney!
My title says "Queen of the Court" Because she has that on a plaque above her door in her office. At first I thought it funny. But now I believe its true. Nan has such a good rapport with the court officials that they do listen to her!
Thank you so much Nan! I really thought that a person with my background was going to have the book thrown at me. But I was worried for nothing!

My world turned upside down when my wife framed me in a domestic violence case. As someone who had never broken the law what was unfolding before me was surreal and I had no clue on what to do next. After interviewing three highly rated (on Avvo and Yelp) criminal lawyers in San Jose, I selected Nan as I found her to be sincere and knowledgeable. She has a calming, reassuring effect. She outlined an approach and explained likelihood of various outcomes. Throughout the process, she was accessible and kept me informed via email and phone. In the end, she was able to get the charges dismissed and called me with this news! If you need someone who can fight for you, I suggest you pick Nan. You will be glad you did.

We hired Nan for a DUI case. She never know the case nor the person, poor defense! She is a charm of talking and results end up bad. People get better results just going through Public Defender.
