About me

Jamie Cogburn co-founded Cogburn Law Offices in 2005 and has helped grow the business to a seven attorney firm, a tremendous accomplishment at only 35 years old. Prior to co-founding Cogburn Law Office, Jamie Cogburn worked for the Honorable Ron Parraguirre as a judicial law clerk and then worked at Marquis & Aurbach, one of the premier law firms in the State of Nevada.

Jamie is an active member of the Nevada Justice Association, the American Justice Association, the National Association of Consumer Advocates and the Citizens for Justice. Jamie is also a member of the prestigious Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an impressive group of trial lawyers who have settled a case or won a trial for $2,000,000 or more. Less than 1% of lawyers in the United States qualify for membership. For three consecutive years, Jamie has been identified as a Super Lawyer Rising Star, an honor bestowed to less than 5% of the best and brightest lawyers under the age of 40. Jamie has also been voted into the “Top 40 Under 40” by the National Trial Lawyers.

Jamie’s areas of practice include business litigation, real estate and consumer protection.  Jamie is an activist for consumers and those affected by employment and personal injury lawsuits. He believes strongly in protecting individual rights and lobbies for the Nevada Justice Association to protect consumers and the rights of injured people. On behalf of consumers, he has taken on multiple class action cases.

Jamie Cogburn earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nevada and graduated cum laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Outside the office, Jamie enjoys traveling and spending time with his family and friends. A father of two, he is married to his law partner Kristin and splits his time between Reno and Las Vegas.

As an active community member, Jamie offers his vast knowledge by hosting and participating in seminars designed to educate members of the public on foreclosure alternatives, including short sales and loan modifications. Additionally, he has taught continuing education classes on consumer law to other lawyers and he co-hosts a local radio show on KDWN and KNUU, “Lawyers, Banks & Money”. Jamie is a board member of the local charity Generation Vegas and is a committed supporter of the Boys and Girls Club.
