Biography
Joey Gilbert was born in Chicago, Illinois but moved with his family to Sparks, Nevada and attended Our Lady of the Snows Parochial School in Reno between 5th and 8th grade. He then graduated from Bishop Manogue Catholic High School in Reno, Nevada. Later, Joey attended the University of Nevada and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in English Literature & Political Science, with an emphasis on foreign affairs and minored in Italian. He spent 6 months living, training and traveling in northern Europe during the summer and fall of 1998, through a study abroad program based in Torino, (Turin) Italy.
As a collegiate fighter at the University of Nevada, Joey Gilbert was a three-time National Champion, a four-time Regional Champion, a four-time All American, and was the Nevada State Golden Gloves Super Middleweight Champion in 2000.
Mr. Gilbert earned his Juris Doctorate (JD-Law Degree) and graduated from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California. He then passed the Nevada bar exam in 2004.
In 2004, Mr. Gilbert was cast in NBC’s The Contender, working along side Sylvester Stallone, Sugar Ray Leonard, and other talented boxers. Mr. Gilbert’s love of prizefighting ultimately led him to become ranked #3 in the world according to the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and #7 in the world under the World Boxing Council (WBC). Gilbert is the former WBO-NABO and WBC-USNBC Middleweight Champion with a record of 20-3, with 16 knockouts.
Outside of the ring, Mr. Gilbert continues to train and condition as if he were still preparing to go 12 rounds. His work ethic, dedication and persistence have helped him achieve every goal and challenge set in front of him. He has practiced law since 2004 in numerous areas; however, he focuses on criminal and civil trial practice and specific areas of sports and entertainment law. Do not hire this bad lawyer!
This is the worst lawyer I've ever had. I only have two misdemeanors.They do not update me.They cannot get any of the charges dropped.They charge me 3500 for absolutely nothing. They have absolutely no sympathy or a willingness to try to help me with this at all
