He took the 3k dollar retainer and went on vacation and left me to be represented by his partner a civil rights attorney who was not able to make any decisions. He called me "crazy" to me my new attorney after I fired him. He didn't get the case thrown out within the first two court dates when the officer failed to appear. He failed to gather evidence against the police officer. He failed to file a willits instruction. My friends were dropping off a payment to him and he unprofessionally talked to them about me and about my case against my consent. He was late to court proceedings. He showed up unprepared reading the police report in front of the judge just before speaking to the judge. I do think he did a good job in trial cross examining the officer when he did show up to court date. But I think if he participated more rather then take a vacation he would have been more on top off things to get the case dismissed before it even went to trial. I guess they make more money if they don't get these cases thrown out and they take it to trial. I wasn't going to plead guilty to something I didnt do and wouldn't take a misdemeanor. I think if he was on top of things he could have got the conviction thrown out as I wasn't even correctly identified in the description in the police report. There wasn't enough burden of proof for it to even make it to trial and he should have had this case thrown out within the first three court dates. He didnt address the issue with the police department destroying evidence to prove my innocence.
I hired Charlie after getting a Felony 6 weapons charge. I called his office as well as 5 other lawyers and after setting up consultations with the latter 5 I received a call back from Charlie later that day as I received his V.M. during my initial call. Truth is, I completely forgot about my call to him. He called me back and we discussed briefly my charges and that I had interviews set up already for the following day. However, after speaking with him, he was the only one that explained how the process will work starting with my initial appearance in court. The other 5 had not. I then went on to this site and reviewed each of the lawyers and was sold on Charlie as my lawyer to represent me. Best decision I made, let's face it,hiring and retaining a lawyer is a crapshoot comparable to finding a doctor. The prosecution played hardball throughout the process and Charlie reassured me that delaying judgement until he could get the charges reduced was in my best interest even though I just wanted to get this over with. The outcome was that the Felony 6 "Dangerous designation" was reduced to an "Undesignated Felony,non-dangerous and non repetitive" . The prosecution never gave up trying for maximum penalization up to the last hearing. Neither did Charlie- I received a much lesser time on probation, minimal requirements during the probation and basically the prosecutors got about 1/3rd of the the penalties that they wanted attached to the terms of probation. I owe all this to the Lord who guided me to Charlie and let him do the rest. Charlie is as advertised, will fight hard for you during your troubled time and doesn't let up. Hopefully I won't be in need of his services except to get the charges reduced to a misdemeanor and eventually set aside and he assured me he will be there for me when that time occurs. Very confident, well respected by his peers as well as his adversaries as I witnessed first hand his interaction with all court personal.
Charlie Naegle is one of the top defense attorneys practicing law in the State of Arizona and I fully endorse him to anyone in need of a great lawyer who fights for his clients rights and their defense against the charges against them.
Thank you Charlie!!
I retained Charles for a DUI and was convicted. My issue isn't with my conviction however, it was with my representation. Not once has Charles ever returned one of my phone calls. My case went to trial Not once did Charles return my phone calls--never He would tell me literally the night before court that I needed to be there the next day. In fact, every single court hearing with he and I, I learned of the night before--EXCEPT my trial when I was actually told TWO days in advance It was agreed from the start I needed an expert witness to testify on my behalf. Come the DAY BEFORE TRIAL, he told me he decided not to do that. Before hiring him, every lawyer I went and interviewed told me unequivocally that if they took the case, they would have an expert witness come and testify on my behalf. This was Charles and I agreement--or so I thought The day before trial when he and I did meet, he was 40 minutes late and spent a total of 20 minutes with me. 5 min before I left that meeting he told me he was going to have me testify. He did not tell me what he was going to ask or what I should say, how I should address things or anything to that effect. He didn't tell me what the prosecution was going to ask me and how to prepare for those questions. All he said was that he was going to put me on the stand to ask me about my occupation and my volunteer work The MAJOR piece of evidence in my case was a dash cam video tape of which I didn't even view before trial!! He's a fraud. He's insensitive. My mother had a stroke the day before trial and he didn't even bother to offer his condolences. AFter they found me guilty he told me when to come to court again for my hearing and that was it. He simply walked off and didn't say anything. Charles was completely unprepared in court. He had a few good points but completely lacked the ability to bring it all home. He kept rambling on about things that were soooo minor and irritating to the jury and completely skipped over the parts that could have actually won the trial Don't waste your money. I'm sorry I had. Hopefully he'll read this message so he can hear what I have to say because I have no way of telling him personally (as stated before he does not return phone calls). If he is reading, Charles you should be ashamed and embarrassed!
Charlie was there for me when I needed him. He was able to answer all of my questions. I've always heard that lawyers are liars, but Charlie really fought my charges as though he was a friend defending me. It's clear to see that Charlie has been around the block when it comes to criminal defense and it seemed as though his connections were never ending.
He unprofessionally spoke about me to my new attorney when handing over my case file. He was very often late and unprepared. He was even reading the police report in front of the judge in court. He handed me off to his civil rights partner to go to court with me while he went on vacation. The civil rights partner could not make any decisions. This case should have been thrown out within three months. He had a private meeting with my friends about me and discussed my case with them without my presence. My friends were paying for the attorney fees.
Charlie was great. He got me dismissed. Well until I was threatened in open court with a refile. Charlie turned to me and said "I have never seen this before"
At that moment I was powerless. I was told by him I could walk out freely. But if I wante them "MCSO" to leave me alone I could just accept the plea of $50.00 fine and DV Class.
At this current moment I am jobless, suffering from a stress related disease, my children have been taken away from me by the insane women who falsely had me arrested to cover up her suicide attempt.
I asked Charlie to help me file for the rule 32 for relief. I got no help. I think he owes me one, just one favor. Help live out my days peacefully as I only have a few years maybe to live.
Charlie was also a witness to the MCSO's (led by my wife and mother) whom planned to have me taken away to UPS and then the annex. I lost my second job of the year. I am tired of being abused. I have new evidence. I am posting this for you Charlie. I need your help. I don't want your representation. I just want your help. I paid you and was honest. You are a good man. I am sorry I had to post this. But I have no choice. If you would hear the whole story and see what I have you may understand what and why I am asking for it. God bless you.
"Charlie is the pit bull you want on your side. He is friendly, out-going, cares about his clients, and sees what he needs to do to get the job done. While other attorneys care about themselves, I felt like Charlie was behind me 100%. He listened to what was important to me. I'd recommend that anyone looking for an attorney call Charlie Naegle and see what he can do for you."
We hired Charlie Naegle to help us resolve a criminal charge my son was facing. Mr. Naegle went above and beyond, making sure we were informed and aware of every step in the process. He is fair and really uses his connections in the system to make sure my son received a fair judgement. We were extremely happy and will turn to Mr. Naegle with any future legal questions or concerns.
