Practice Area: Child Support
Outcome: trial court affirmed; review denied
Description: The case held that legislative amendment to time periods to collect child support were not prohibited retroactive modification of law. Time periods for child support enforcement are not statute of limitations. The time periods are the contours of the court's jurisdiction to enforce its orders. Enforcement of child support is a remedy and the Legislature has the right at all times to extend the trial court's jurisdiction to enforce a remedy.
