I have known David for more than ten years. Initially my business used his services for a number of business law items and we had always been very happy with his services. More recently last year he handled a quick divorce for me. He is very professional and his legal secretary Mary is equally "on-spot". They work very hard for you and are reasonable in terms of costs. They were always patient with me, and I know under the circumstances I was not always with them. That says a lot. Divorce can be an expensive proposition but David kept the costs to a minimum. I recommend David highly. He very ethical and thinks of adding items to your Final Decree that you would not have thought about. Let David handle your Divorce, Family Law or Business matters. He is an excellent attorney and his staff is dedicated and very knowledgeable.

Except for the time it took to earn both undergraduate and law degrees from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, I have lived in Austin, Texas since the fourth grade. I’m proud to come from a long line of lawyers and public servants. I have spent over 20 years practicing Family Law, including divorce, complex property division, child custody, child support, collaborative law, adoptions, pre and post-nuptial agreements, family violence (Protective Orders), and virtually every aspect of the law affecting families. Since 2006, I have been Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

When you need the services of a Family Law professional, there’s not a more important decision than who you choose as your representative. I believe that the lawyer should take the tone from the client and take care to understand what the client seeks to accomplish. The lawyer’s job is to help the client navigate the legal landscape and offer the client expert legal advice from which the client can choose to accomplish his or her goals. Getting this right requires providing the client as much explanation as is necessary to make the client feel comfortable and informed. That, and achieving the best results, is what separates good lawyers from great lawyers.

I hired David Kazen as my divorce attorney. It was important to me that he was a good person and that he would follow what I wanted to happen within the divorce while at the same time being prepared to fight for me if needed. I have worked with many attorneys in my career. David Kazen is a phenomenal attorney and very well versed in his career. He sees his clients a human beings and not as dollar signs like the majority of family lawyers out there. He knows the law and quotes case law when he drafts up a motion. David is the type of lawyer I want protecting me and my family. His paralegal, Mary is an amazing woman and well educated in family law. I couldn’t have hired a better attorney in the Austin area. David did the job he was hired to do and he even refunded me some of my retainer fee, which is very unheard of in family law. He is a top notch and ethical attorney. I highly recommend him!

Easy Peasy

Divorce sucks, but these guys were great. My ex and I had all our stuff figured out before we showed up and David made sure everything we wanted was executed perfectly. These guys made the process very easy.

Simply The Best and Smartest

David Kazen is simply one of the best and smartest family attorneys in the State of Texas period!. After our initial consultation, David laid out a strategy for my case and explained it to me in detail including the potential pitfalls. We agreed on this plan knowing we would have to adjust along the way. He was methodical in his approach and his knowledge of the law and the court system was impressive. He was able to exact our plan even better than I had hoped. I am a man in the State of Texas and I asked for a change in conservatorship and to be awarded full custody as primary caretaker of my daughter with no geographical restrictions and child support - a near impossible goal. With David's expertise, I received everything I asked for. David is the ultimate teammate and I am grateful for his presence. He is a winner!

Excellent Litigator

Complicated Divorce

David did a great job navigating through a complicated property division and saving my separate estate. He did a great job explaining the law and how it related to my special circumstance. Coupled with a good tracing firm, he saved my separate property.
