Mr. Karns was a breath of fresh air to work with and he earned my complete trust when handling my case. He advised me on what strategy he thought would get me the best outcome for my case, and I am so thankful I hired him because I had no idea what to do. He always had time to talk to me and never talked down to me. I am thrilled with how things turned out. I wouldn’t hesitate to use him again and highly recommend him for any legal issue you have.

I hired Mr. Karns after my first sergeant told me it would be a waste of money to hire my own lawyer and that he would not be able to do anything for me. I already seen how my command treated others guys in my unit, and I decided I wasn’t going to let them intimidate me from exercising my rights. Mr. Karns absolutely saved my career and was able to keep my command from playing games on me. I got fair treatment and I am still in the Army.

I got stopped by the MPs at the gate because they said they smelled alcohol coming from my car. They gave me sobriety tests and a breathalyzer which I failed. They arrested me, impounded my car, and I was placed on restriction and flagged. My command told me I would be prosecuted in federal court for DWI and separated from the Army. I hired Mr. Karns and immediately the tide started to turn. Attorney Karns talked to my command and requested that they hold off the prosecution or separation action. I enrolled in ASAP, kept a good attitude and performed my duties. Even though the trial counsel pushed for me to be prosecuted in federal court, Mr. Karns argued to have the Army handle it. I couldn’t believe it when my command agreed with him and gave me an Art. 15, dropped the federal case and retained me. I received no conviction for DWI, no drivers license suspension, and no separation from the Army. Mr. Karns saved my you-know-what and I don’t think I will ever be able to thank him enough.

I served in the Army Reserve for four years, was activated, deployed to Iraq, came home, was released from active duty with an Honorable discharge and placed in the IRR. A recruiter came to my house and told me that I could transfer out of the IRR back into the Reserve. The recruiter told me that if there was no unit close to me, I would remain in the IRR, so I signed the papers. Come to find out, I was assigned to a unit close to where I used to live (I had already moved) and they initiated separation on me for unsatisfactory participation and were going to give me a General Discharge. I hired Mr. Karns, and even though I missed the suspense date for a response, he was able get my command to agree to an Honorable Discharge. I am so thankful!

I hired Mr. Karns after having been accused of assaulting a female Solider by an anonymous caller who made the complaint. The incident was investigated, and when the “victim” was interviewed, she gave a very different version of events than what actually happened, and she made sure to minimize her conduct and exaggerate mine. I hired Mr. Karns to help me compose my side of the story and present it to my command. Despite my grim predictions of the outcome, I was thrilled when my request for a locally filed reprimand was granted. Thanks to Mr. Karns, I avoided a permanent black mark on my record and am looking forward to moving on.

I called Mr. Karns after I got accused by another soldier of rape because she claimed she was too drunk to consent. We did have sex and were drinking but the sex was consensual. I knew that I needed help to get my command to believe me in this “he said, she said” case. I hired Mr. Karns and he immediately took my side to my command and advocated for me. He was able to get my command to believe me over the female because of my good duty performance and character references as to my reputation. I was given a letter of reprimand for the drinking and it was filed locally so I got to move on without ruining my career. I don’t think my case would have turned out nearly as good as it did if I did not have an attorney who believed in me like Mr. Karns.

I was AWOL from the Army when I hired Mr. Karns. I had been gone for six years and had a new life, husband, and I was pregnant. I had no idea what to do. Mr. Karns contacted the Army and arranged for me to be discharged in three days while having my husband and new baby there with me off-post. I definitely feel that for the circumstances I was in he got me the best result for my case I could get. He is a very nice man and a great attorney.

I recommend Mr. Karns. He is a very considerate and patient attorney who took the time to thoroughly explain what was happening in my case and I felt like he really cared about me. I was very pleased with the service that he and his staff provided.

I hired Stephen Karns for my son who had been AWOL for several years. It was a very scary time for my family since we didn’t know what was going to happen. Mr. Karns guided us through the process, and my son got out without going to the brig. He and his staff were always responsive and took the time to answer all of our questions. I can ask a lot of questions, so that’s saying a lot. I hope I don’t need to use him again, but if I need an attorney, he’d be the first one I’d call.

I am a potential client looking for a good attorney. I must admit that this firm was prompt in returning my call. However, Mr. Karns paralegal, Rob, with whom I spoke is the rudest person I have ever encountered. He was short and told me "we don't have time to listen to everyone's story with all of the calls we get". Rob also laughed as I told him the details and attempted to ask questions about the steps I would need to take. I did not have an opportunity to speak with Mr. Karns, however, if the leadership in the office is anything like his paralegal, I would recommend that you seek a true advocate.

I never had to use an attorney before so I went online and searched for one. I talked to a lot of them and Mr. Karns was the only one that talked to me like I was a human being and didn’t sound like he thought I was guilty. He was always available for me and always returned my calls. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Mr. Karns again.

Mr. Karns is a super lawyer! I would absolutely recommend him. I was in a lot of trouble when I hired him and he turned it all around. Buddies that I had went to a club with had bought some zanax from a girl there. Some of us took it and some didn’t. I always stated to OSI that I did not do it and did not know who did, but then they said they had statements from others who said they saw me do it. I almost accepted a nonjudicial punishment, even though it wasn’t the truth, but then I hired Mr. Karns to fight it. One week later, my command dropped the case and I was back at work. My three friends are no longer in the Air Force. All I can say is thank you Mr. Karns for believing me and fighting for me.

I am a Marine and Mr. Karns saved my career. I was under investigation for adultery with another Marine who I had a child with. My sergeant major told me that battalion was going for the max in my case. I hired Mr. Karns on a Saturday and he got right on the case. He spoke to my battalion commander that same day and somehow got him to understand my situation and all my good years put in. I was verbally reprimanded but avoided prosecution and any adverse paper in my file. Mr. Karns got me the best result possible and I would hire him again in an instant.

Mr. Karns saved my life, literally. I was looking at being court-martialed for something I didn’t do and the max punishment was life without parole. From the first time I called Mr. Karns, he treated me like a human being even though my command was making me out to be some animal. Mr. Karns was honest and straight forward. I never felt any pressure from him when I had to make tough decisions on my case. He simply explained what the options were and went over the pros and cons with me without talking down to me. I will always be grateful to him and his staff for helping me through my nightmare. I couldn’t have made it without him.

Mr. Karns is a lawyer you can trust. With my case, he took the time to explain to me what the process was and what I might expect as far as resolving it. He always returned my calls, answered my questions, and got me a better deal than I thought possible. Needless to say, I am very pleased and heartily recommend him to others.
