also known as Annette Griggs, L. Annette Griggs
I grew up near Clinton, Missouri but have spent my adult life in the greater Kansas City area. I finished my undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri and then started law school when my daughter was four months old. After completing law school at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, where I served on the staff of the Urban Lawyer, I went into private practice helping personal injury victims.
I have dedicated my practice to the representation of injured people. That representation comes in many forms, such as helping those injured in car and truck accidents, wrongful death claims, dram shop cases (liquor liability), product liability claims, premises liability cases and lawsuits against insurance companies.
I am also an active member in the Association of Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City and am currently serving on the AWL board this year. I have also spoken at the UMKC Law School to women law students regarding their job search post graduation and promoting the idea of entrepreneurship as an alternative to traditional employment. I am also a group advisor in the AWLF Practice Development Program which pairs new female law school graduates with a mentor to help ensure their success as new attorneys. McCollum & Griggs, LLC is a Gold Sponsor of AWL-KC and a sustaining member of their sister organization, the AWLF.
Additionally, I try to regularly participate in as many worthwhile community projects as possible including Habitat for Humanity, Project ElderCool, Rally for the Cure, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Harvesters, Bishop Sullivan Center, and is active in other bar-related organizations including MATA, MATA Women and the UMKC Inn of Courts.
Outside of the legal profession, I love spending time with my husband , daughter and extended family. We are active in our church and numerous community and political organizations.

Annette is one of the most accomplished attorneys in her field. She has taught me more about the practice of law than any other source including law school! I would recommend Annette especially in cases involving Brain Injuries. She has a passion of not only recovering money for her clients but also getting her clients well.
