About Me

Attorney Jonathan P. Groth, owner of Groth Law Firm, S.C. (www.GrothLawFirm.com), has dedicated his career to representing plaintiffs in all areas of personal injury law. He has successfully tried cases throughout Wisconsin in both State and Federal Court and has joined the elite few Wisconsin attorneys who have argued before the Wisconsin State Supreme Court. Recent jury’s have awarded his clients verdicts of $900,000 and $1.2 million. Able to fight for his clients after trial, attorney Groth has successfully fought for his clients on appeal, twice arguing cases before the Wisconsin State Supreme Court.

Prior to opening Groth Law Firm, S.C., attorney Groth worked with a prestigious Wisconsin personal injury firm.  Prior to this he clerked with a prominent plaintiff personal injury firm in Illinois. After graduation, Mr. Groth spent several years in general practice litigating a wide variety of cases ranging from probate disputes to commercial conflicts to personal injury and privacy matters.

Mr. Groth is a frequent lecturer to local and state bar associations on topics related to personal injury litigation. Mr. Groth has also been asked to speak as a special guest lecturer at Cardinal Stritch University.

Attorney Groth was recently selected as one of the top 100 trial attorneys by the National Trial Lawyers Association.  He was also selected to join the "Top 40 Under 40" section of the National Trial Lawyers Association.

More recently, he was named to the 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Wisconsin Rising Stars list. This list recognizes the top young lawyers in Wisconsin as chosen through independent research and peer review. All Wisconsin Rising Stars are 40 or younger or have been in practice for 10 years or less. Only 2.5 percent of Wisconsin attorneys are named Rising Stars.

In 2012 Attorney Groth was chosen by M Magazine as a "Lawyer to Know" for his work and reputuation in the field of Personal Injury litigation.

Mr. Groth is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Wisconsin, the American Association for Justice where he is a liaison to Marquette University Law School and on the Board of Governors for the New Lawyer Division, and the Wisconsin Association for Justice where he was Chair of the New Lawyers section. Attorney Groth was recently appointed chair of the Wisconsin State Bar Solo & Small Firm Conference Planning Committee.

Jon's reputation in the legal community is stellar and I have a great deal of respect for him. What's more, he's the same person I knew before he ever became a lawyer. I have known Jon for many years. In fact, when we were in law school, Jon was the manager of my apartment building and showed me around Milwaukee when I had freshly moved to town and knew nothing about and no one Milwaukee. Jon is still the kind of person who will help a perfect stranger regardless of whether it will benefit him. I've never have the privilege to work diretly with him or in opposition to him, but I can say that those who have done so find it a good experience, due to Jon's professionalism, civility and ethics. In my opinion, Jon is a asset to the profession and is most deserving of having been named a Wisconsin Rising Star in 2008.
