Child Custody 25%

Legal matters involving children are especially sensitive. I strive to be sensitive to the children involved (because they didn't choose their situation), while still working to achieve my clients' objectives.

Alimony 15%

I handle post-divorce alimony and child support modifications. Changes in circumstances can lead to changes in payments to be made, but modification is far from a foregone conclusion and it is anything but simple math.

I offer flat-fee uncontested divorces. The amount of the fee varies based on the complexity of the matter.

Custody modification

Lori has been nothing short of fantastic, caring, and compassionate. I had a difficult case and she landed me with everything I wanted and most importantly, what’s best for my child. I truly cannot thank her enough. It was a very challenging time for my child, and me and she turned it around. Thank y...ou Lori!

Excellent and Caring Attorney

Ms Holyfield handled my divorce for me, and she was professional, knowledgeable, and explained each step of the legal process to me. She was also so caring, compassionate and understanding of my needs as her client. I highly recommend her as she truly cares and listens to the needs of her clients;... she's a great person and a great attorney!

A Reliable Confidante in Unpredictable Times

To elaborate on the title above, I recommend Lori Holyfield as your attorney for matters of family law without hesitation or reservation. Specifically in my case of a contested divorce without dependent children from an unfaithful spouse, Lori was immediately someone I felt I could depend on and trus...t from the first consultation to the final court appearance and every tough moment in between. She has an intuitive understanding of human psychology that augments her counsel to the benefit of her client, especially in circumstances that are subject to change at a moment's notice. Her communication throughout my case and the efficiency with which she prepared the requisite materials were exceptional. I felt heard and seen and understood, in addition to feeling cared for and respected as a human being first and client second. She never hesitated to reassure me when my anxiety ran high with unexpected changes to my divorce going from uncontested to contested where alimony was concerned. Furthermore, she was honest and did an excellent and tactful job at managing my expectations to prepare me emotionally and mentally and spiritually for my mediation, which lasted six straight hours. She was attentive and present with me the entirety of the mediation and balanced her role as my counsel by allowing me to exercise my agency and autonomy while reminding me of my personal goals for the divorce when counter-offers from my ex-spouse and his attorney felt like a violation of boundaries. After an agreement was settled, she did not hesitate to immediately schedule the court appearance for the final divorce decree, all of which happened in a very timely manner. Divorce is costly in more ways than money and Lori is someone who understands that aspect and more. Her fees are completely reasonable and I truly feel that I made an investment in my future by choosing her as my attorney. Despite the difficult circumstances of liberating myself from a toxic marriage with a habitually dishonest individual, Lori's expert knowledge of family law gave me the confidence to continue my path forward into a bright, promising future where I am no longer held back by the harmful actions of an incomplete person. I owe her a recurring debt of gratitude for her advice, her guidance, her heart, and her time.

Child custody case not involving marriage

I s/w Lori and she handles custody cases but mostly through marriage and I wanted someone who has handles cases at Juvenile Court. Lori doesn't have a lot of experience with Juvenile Court custody cases but she referred me to several other attorneys and I appreciated that.

Very Disappointed

I hired Lori Holyfield to handle my divorce. While she started out strong, she ended up being very disappointing. Our initial consultation lead me to believe she was very caring and the right attorney for me. In the beginning of the process she communicated with me to explain what was being filed and... the next steps. As time went on her communication was lacking. I had to reach out to her many times to receive copies of my court documents and I even had to contact to courthouse directly to receive the documents that I needed. There were several times I called, text, and emailed to get updates with no response. Going through a divorce is such a difficult time and I explained to her that this is my life and my children's life that was being impacted because of her lack of communication and not filing paperwork in a timely manner. After weeks of trying to reach her, she finally sent me an email stating she would handle things and after that all communication stopped. I made numerous attempts to reach her until I just finally gave up. I feel this was very unprofessional and unethical. If I had to do it all over again, I would hired a different attorney and not Lori Holyfield.

I am so disappointed to read this. I would contact you to discuss a resolution of your issue, but unfortunately, you left your review anonymously, so I do not know who you are and cannot match the experience you described with any case I have handled. I will say, without meaning to argue with you or question how you perceived your experience, that this is not the way I generally conduct myself as an attorney, and I could not even begin to guess which of my clients or former clients you might be. I do not generally delay filing important paperwork, and I do generally respond to clients' efforts at communication. I also cannot recall a time where a client has requested a copy of documentation that I have failed to provide, and I certainly do not recall a client needing to visit the courthouse to get any documents. This review was hard for me to read. I am demoralized and hurt because I care deeply for my clients and their children. My cases often keep me up at night and I consider it an honor to walk with my clients through the valley of divorce. For those reasons, this review breaks my heart not for myself, but for you. I have had a lot going on personally lately, as I was involved in a bad car accident a few weeks ago and then lost my grandfather just yesterday after an extended illness. I have tried to be attentive to my clients in the face of all of this. With that said, I am not offering any excuses. I take your concerns seriously and I want to discuss them with you to determine how I might better serve you and future clients. Again, I am so sorry to read that you were unhappy with my representation, and I invite you to contact me (my correct contact information is 901-492-1830 or [email protected], just in case you don't have those) to see if I can resolve your concerns or, if appropriate, apologize to you directly for my role in your case. I wish you the best.
