I am from New York and contacted Mr. Spector regarding an outstanding DUI charge. He was very responsive and helpful, he immediately started the process and informed me along the way. His experience as a past prosecutor was evident once we were in court, this knowledge was invaluable in my defense. He was thorough in his research and presented the facts to the court and was able to get the charges dismissed! I was amazed and thankful that I chose Carl as my attorney, his professionalism and due diligence were pivotal in my case and ultimately persuaded the court to return a favorable decision. I would highly recommend him -he did an excellent job for me!!

We recently hired Mr. Spector to assist us with a "Disorderly Person Charge" against our 18 year old son in the state of NJ. He was extremely professional and gracious throughout the entire process.
Due to his impeccable knowledge and experience, our son's "Disoderly Offense Charge" (which is considered to be a misdemeanor) was dropped to a "Municipal Ordinance Violation" (a lower level offense). This case could have taken months to resolve, but Mr. Spector was able to obtain a resolution on the first court appearance.
Mr. Spector, thank you for all that you have done to assist with this matter. Your charasmatic personality helped to ease our worries during such a stressful time. More importantly, you gave our son the option of a "start over". We appreciate you!

My case was very complicated. The first lawyer told me that my best bet was to take a Plea of a 1 year liscence suspension or I could end up in jail . I need my liscence to work and I could have lost everything. I did not know what to do or if anything could be done at all. I had gotten into an accident where I was forced to leave the scene being physically threatened by the other party. I did not report the minor accident. The other party did make a police report then decided ( three days later ) to add to the police report that I RAN HIM OVER WITH MY CAR! ! OH MY GOD! ! THEY HAD MEDICAL RECORDS TOO! I know that they were just trying to get a law suit and didn't care how this would effect me . I thought how do I fight this. I've seen many court shows on TV. When the judge is presented medical records that's all the evidence they need but I was not going down without a fight and I knew the lawyer I had could care less. So I fired that idiot and got a real lawyer ,Carl Scott Spector. The difference between Carl and my first lawyer was night and day . From the first day I walked in Carl's office we went through my case top to bottom inside and out ! Different ways to go about the case . Different strategies. We even rein acted the whole incident. He was just great . I left his office that day knowing I had a chance and thats just what I needed . Carl's knowledge of the legal system is exceptional . He was also very attentive to any questions I had and answer all my calls emediatly or sent me a text that he would call me back and alway did . Well I highly recommend Mr Spector because in a case that looked like there was no hope I managed to keep my liscence and only end up with a 100$ fine and 33$ court cost . My family and I have been celebrating all week . Thanks again Carl.

I want to start this review by stating I had the unfortunate experiencing of being arrested by the NYPD and being charged with a DUI. I spent an evening and the following day in jail, which was a horribly miserable and humiliating experience. Once I got back on my feet, I was incredibly nervous, anxious, and scared as to what was to come with my charges.
I began to search the internet for NYC DUI lawyers and as one can imagine, was overwhelmed with the amount of information that was given to me upon googling this search query. I am a firm believer in online reviews, as this is how many of my purchases are made in online marketplaces such as Amazon. After a few hours of reading reviews on Avvo and other websites, I found Carl Spector.
I called his office expecting to speak with a secretary or someone similar, but was greeted by Carl himself. He was very well spoken, courteous and I could immediately tell he was a cut above the rest. He helped to calm my fears about the mess I was in, and asked a plethora of questions to gain more insight on my case. At the end of the call he assured me that he had my best interest and would fight to win my case.
After many weeks of communicating by email, phone and text (he is VERY responsive with communication) we went to court. Carl played the cards right and I was able to receive a DWAI (traffic infraction, not a DUI). Obviously, I was relieved, but I was also impressed at how well spoken and prepared Carl was at trial.
I cannot recommend Carl Spector enough. He is a top notch lawyer and an all around swell guy. Thanks again Carl.

I have had numerous dealings with lawyers both professionally and personally. My experience of Carl Spector has been top notch around a personal matter that involved going to court. Carl is quick to respond, thorough in his explanations and adept at applying the law. There was a point of law in our case that was misapplied and Carl found it after a search on the matter leading to a dismissal. He is also personable and able to put one at ease. There is no question I would engage his services again.

I was charged with dwi in april 2013, when on my way back from meeting few friends and made mistake of getting behind the wheels long story short i found Carl and hired his services after speaking to a list long of attorneys who didnt exactly deliver what i was expecting and that was the truth. Carl kept it 100% with me from the start and explained every step of the way and court procedures to judges decisions.
Being in a criminal court is stressful specially when prosecution doesnt want to budge and lower charges. In my case Carl firmly said to prosecution we are not interested in your lousy misdermeanor offer and to prove it, after long hearing dates and filings of motions on June 17,2015 the judge ruled in our favor and dismissed all the charges.
Carl is a very professional and smart lawyer and knows his trade very well. If there is a teeny tiny snag in paper work, rest asured Carl will find it and use it for the benefit.
Piece of advice for first timers, be patient not restless, if you have hired Carl you will have the best outcome for me the judges words were " charges dismissed". I highly recommend Carl for your criminal hearings as its your future and life dont let legal aid play with your life.
And my self made slogan " call Carl not Saul".

Carl Spector was a professional from the start. I talked to several attorneys before deciding to go with Mr. Spector. His knowledge and enthusiasm set him apart from others concidered. He Kept me informed through the entire process and was flexible with payment. I didn't even meet him till my final day in court yet he treated me with respect and made me feel comfortable. I was truly impressed with the results produced on that final day. I was originally charged with a controlled dangerous substance possesion and ended up with a minicipal ordinance charge.

A little background. My family and I were preparing for a major trip out of the country and the stress was overwhelming. The night before (Friday) I had a couple of drinks at home, a couple at dinner and then got pulled over taking the babysitter home. To make a nightmare story short, I was issued 8 tickets - DUI, Refusal to Breathylyzer, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Speeding, Obstructed View (something on my rearview mirror), No Seatbelt and an unapproved seatbelt avoidance device. HFS! With 12 hours until flight time I needed a lawyer - fast. Fortunately, a close friend (and former municipal court judge) recommended Carl.
I called Carl on Saturday morning and he called me back in about 10 minutes. We discussed what happened - probably for an hour - and Carl was very interested in my thoughts. I am a lawyer in a very different practice, and did not want to pretend I knew what I was doing. I don't. But Carl was interested and listened, none the less. I felt like we were a team. I asked about a number of the "probable cause" offenses that likely occurred in a different town, and I offered some weak but plausible defenses to the refusal. Carl took it all down and dismissed nothing. He encouraged me to think more, as he did.
The next thing was our meeting. Over 2 hours going over the discovery, the case, our defenses, and realistic outcomes. Tons of follow up emails. A few calls. Another meeting. Even surveying the site of the offenses. After all of that, we were in agreement. No way I was getting the whole thing dropped. Best case, I was looking at pleading to a minimum (3 mos. suspension) DUI.
I don't want to give away Carl's tactics for fear it may jeapordize his ability to repeat my hugely successful outcome. But if you are familiar with NJ DUI laws, you know that a plea deal on a DUI or refusal is all but impossible. The standard first time offense is 7 mos. plus interlock devices for another 6, and a guilty plea on both the DUI and refusal.
Somehow, Carl pulled it off. Am I happy? You betcha! This could have been a real PITA. Now I feel like its a manageable one. Could he have won it outright? I'll never know, but I did not have the stomach to try. Carl's counsel here was spot on - three months from now my life resumes normalcy. The risk is I would be dealing with this for well over a year. No brainer.
Carl, you are the best REAL lawyer I know. Your situational judgment is simply remarkable. You have a gift for finding - making - opportunities, and taking advantage of them for your clients. I can't thank you enough. For anyone else with the misfortune of needing Carl's help, you couldn't be in better hands, and I wish you the very best.

Very understanding, sincere, polite with a sense of humor shows how down to earth this guy really is. Only Lawyer i spoke to through Avvo who was actually interested in myself and my job and asked all the right questions for what i felt was potentially good personal representation.
I had several misdemeanor charges (while under the influence of alcohol and not driving related) against my name with the possibility of up to 1 year in jail. With his expert and knowledgeable advice i was able to enter into a plea deal where my charges were dropped to a violation (which would not affect my work and ability to enter the USA) and a very small fine with 6 days community service.
I would happily recommend MR Spector to anyone after his expert help with my case.
