Unprofessional and questionable judgment
I consulted with Mr. Antoniello, I did not hire him. During our meeting it seemed as if everything was going well. He gave me adequate time. At the end of the meeting he said some cliche saying along the lines of "I think your case truly deserves to be heard and you need justice." Which could have be...
Respectfully, you did not even hire me (as you noted). You visited for a consultation in November. I promptly sent you a retainer letter, as you requested. You responded, saying that the retainer letter “seems good at this time.” But, you had some legal questions. I did research for you to answer them, at no charge. You were thankful… but then I never heard back from you. Consistent with my practice when retainer letters are outstanding, I followed up with you in December, simply asking where we stood (literally, “Hi… where do we stand?”) because we never heard back from you on the retainer. No response. Months later, on February 8, you resurfaced with an email in which you apologized for your delay and thanked me for my time. You never raised a single concern. (All of this is documented.) I replied, “Ok, so you are not interested in moving forward?...” For some reason, that obviously rubbed you the wrong way. Respectfully, when a retainer letter remains open for nearly 4 months, it’s time to make a decision to move forward or not. If that offends you, I apologize. I note that, in the time period between your consultation and your review of me, eight other actual clients who retained me provided 5-star reviews. I am happy to discuss this further offline and remain willing to help, if you'd like. Please feel free to call any time -- 973.270.9902.
