I have practiced in California and Arizona since 1975. For most of that time, as a civil trial lawyer. My success is based on my ability to learn and get up to speed on any subject quickly, and then go nose-to-nose with any litigator, no matter how well-staffed or financed. I spent 15 years of my years of practice (1987-2001) representing ordinary people who had been abused by large institutions (e.g., County Sheriffs, Board of Education, national Bank, ABC and Channel 15) and their large law firms. I have had my phone bugged, my files rifled, trucks run at my children, and my bank accounts closed arbitrarily, but I have never backed down.
In an effort to avoid becoming too narrow, I have engaged in several other professions during these 35 years. Along with my wife, I have been a relationship and family counselor for the last 25 years. I spent 5 years running the state's first charter school, and teaching and coaching its students. I spent 3 years running a real estate investment company with one of my sons. These experiences have given me greater compassion for my law clients.
I used to have a lot of hobbies, but now I have 6 children and 12 grandchildren who leave little time or energy for anything else. However, I have never outgrown my love for the Suns, and I'm a golf addict.

Excellent Attorney
I highly recommend Steve Rensch (Mesa, AZ). He is extremely knowledgeable, and what impressed me most was how honest Steve was about the choices we could make in our situation, and how he then helped us through the legal process, step by step, with a lot of patience and professionalism.

Probation issued in AZ, 2015
updated on 09/08/2017Probation means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The State monitors the lawyer's activities for a period of time in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
“The probation is over. The problem stemmed from a mistake by Chase Bank, which acknowledged the mistake in a writing to the Bar. However, the Bar decided that I had "intimidated" Chase into writing the letter, despite lack of any evidence. When that potential charge failed, the Bar collected all my trust account documents and found mathematical mistakes. They were corrected.”
