Biography
Alex E. Ruiz is driven by a deep-seated commitment to supporting families, which has guided his legal journey exclusively into the realm of Family Law. He earned his Juris Doctor from Chapman University Fowler School of Law, complemented by a Bachelor of Science degree in Business & Society from La Sierra University.
Throughout his academic and professional path, Alex consistently demonstrated an unwavering passion for aiding others, evident in his internships and clinics. Within these contexts, he played a pivotal role in assisting self-represented litigants grappling with Family Law cases through his internships at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana and the Los Angeles Superior Court in Norwalk. Subsequently, his tenure as a Law Clerk in the Family Protection Unit of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office underscored his dedication to aiding Deputy District Attorneys in prosecuting domestic violence offenders.
An integral part of the Bette & Wylie Aitken Family Protection Clinic as a State Bar Certified Law Student, Alex represented a survivor of domestic abuse in court. His exceptional and meticulous advocacy not only garnered him the CALI Award, recognizing the Highest Grade in the Family Protection Clinic – Protective Orders, but also highlighted his commitment to excellence.
In 2018, Alex initiated his role as a Law Clerk at a prominent Family Law firm in Orange County, a role he pursued while concurrently preparing for the bar exam. Following successful completion of the exam and subsequent admission to the California State Bar in December 2018, Alex has steadfastly channeled his energies into assisting individuals in Southern California who are seeking legal guidance for family-related matters.
Having personally experienced the dynamics of divorce during his upbringing, Alex possesses an acute understanding of the intricate emotions and transitions that clients often undergo. He leverages his personal background, combined with his legal expertise, to provide nuanced assistance to each client. Beyond his professional endeavors, Alex finds solace in reading, indulging in video games, and cherishing moments with his wife and their two canine companions.
