Jonathan Moffitt

He has been a rock in the most tumultuous time of our lives. Our case was not easy. It's been an absolute nightmare. But he has been amazing. He keeps me in check when I need to be and he soothes my husband. Hes never missed a court date or meeting. In fact he stepped in for another lawyer of ours th...at was working on a different aspect of the case who didnt show up, in an entirely different sector of law, and nailed that too. And he did that at literally a moments notice. His office staff is lovely and his paralegal is on top of everything I need when he is not available. He is not cheap but not outrageous either. He works hard and makes sure that you know what's going on and that you are comfortable before he moves forward. Lord knows I am his biggest pain in the a** client (ask him, he will tell you) but he still makes sure to keep me in check while also comforting my husband and I through it. The odds are high that we will be dealing with this for many years to come. We will continue to retain him and his firm if we do. Cannot reccomend highly enough.

The first time I met Jonathan he looked at me and said "this is going to get messy" and it did. Jonathan is smart and extremely aggressive. He always shows up prepared and ready. Its obvious that he is also well liked and respected by court officials. Since October Jonathan has been in court for my c...ase almost weekly and sometimes twice a week lol. He's really is the best.

Getting a call in SC that I had an emergency hearing in 3 hrs for temporary custody of my two sons. Not knowing what to expect I had to at least try to get a lawyer, I called every lawyer in Thurstin county, Preble Law being one of the first. The woman who answered told me the lawyers were in a meet...ing but she would take my number and call me back. Annoyed and already hopeless, I gave the very kind woman my number, and hung up the phone. Continuing to call lawyer after lawyer with 90 minutes until the hearing, Preble Law called me back telling me that Jonathan Moffitt would represent me. I couldn't believe it, he got the quick run down and made it in time. In my lack of knowledge Mr. Moffitt was patient through all my questions. Very shortly after, I had my kids back home with me. Even if they wouldn't have come home, I would have nothing but positive things to say. I was represented within only 3 hrs notice, and that's pretty amazing!!

Jonathon recently represented me. I had to fire him because he was simply terrible. Told me I had 25 pages to my declaration plus 5 pages for declarations he was wrong it was 20 total and he cut out 9 pages of my declaration with consulting me. He does not know the law and he submitted a Sir reply ...to my wife's strict reply which is not allowed. Then he showed up nearly 2 hours late to my hearing because he was at another clients hearing at the same time in another county. He would not return phone calls or texts messages asking where he is and actually told me that lawyers show up that late all the time, and so did his firm when I complained to management, they defended him. He changed the date of the original hearing to accommodate my wife's attorneys schedule. Once he finally showed up he got his butt kicked by my wife's attorney. He did not seal my financials or use the 3 party declarations that showed my wife had lied in her declaration. His strategy was not to bring up all the lies and contradictions my wife had stated in her declaration, instead he made basic arguments that I was in the main house and had a stable job and that was it. Did not go after her lies or the fact she was not working and did not have a play to work. He lied to me posting hearing about how many holidays I get with my children on the parenting plan. He was not very responsive. I see all these positive reviews and I only wish Jonathon treated me like he has other clients. It is clear to me my case was not important to him and that he picks and chooses who puts effort in and who he does not. He told me prior to the hearing that I had a strong case to get primary custody and 50/50 was the baseline I should expect, I walked out with 49% and my wife getting 46% of my paycheck. Maybe he will represent you well and maybe he wont, I wish he represented me like he did other clients who have reviewed him. My new lawyer is trying to fix his incompetence law lack of understanding to the law! I will not be surprised if management continues to defend his actions and I could go on about his mistakes, but what I have said is enough. There are far better attorney's out there than Jonathan.
