Jonathan Moffitt

I ended up with an INCREDIBLE Parenting Plan! I am confident I would not have ended up with these results had I not hired Jonathan Moffitt. Jonathan knows what he is doing. He is confident and prepared in court. I have watched other attorneys stumble around (over what they are trying to communicat...e), or just come off unprofessional in some other way. This was never the case with Jonathan. While nobody wants to go to trial, I felt very prepared and almost enjoyed the experience as I watched Jonathan question and examine my child’s father and debunk the claims my child’s father tried to make. I sought Jonathan’s assistance for my parenting plan and child support case as I was unhappy with another attorney. With just over two months until my trial date, Jonathan picked up my case and took action immediately. I filed for support, but the order was thrown out and my prior attorney never suggested pursuing support before trial. Jonathan filed for and obtained a temporary support order for my child. My child’s father has not been a part of my two-year old child’s life, he moved over 450 miles away shortly after our child was born, and has issues with drugs and alcohol. Needless to say, when my child’s father filed for a parenting plan, I was terrified. My child’s father even made comments that he wanted no contact with our child, yet he continued to take legal action for a parenting plan. The final parenting plan I ended up with is due in part to “bad actions” taken by the father and lots of praying, but I am also very confident I would not have ended up with these results had I not hired Jonathan. My child’s father took a much lower paying job after our child was born, and although I did not receive support based on his prior wages, the final support order/payment was increased slightly for an imputed amount above what my child’s father’s recent pay stubs showed. Jonathan respected and understood that I felt the need to be more involved in my case than might be typical of a client because of the experience I had with a prior attorney. Jonathan was always willing to answer my questions about legal processes, expectations, outcomes, and alternatives. I should also note that Jonathan’s billing statements were well documented. The previous firm I worked with would forget to charge things and then they would show up in a later bill, which was very annoying–this never happened with Jonathan or his staff.

Jonathan Moffitt is a talented family law attorney. He helped me with two cases (both modifications/child support issues that became quite complex) - one in 2016/2017 and one in 2019/2020. He is knowledgeable, honest, responsive and reassuringly calm during the process (which can be stressful).... Mr Moffitt is very upfront about possible outcomes (even if it wasn't likely to be in my favor) so I was always prepared for what would be coming next and what our plan would be. He was highly skilled in dealing with opposing counsel and was well-prepared for hearings. I wish I had known about him when I went through my initial divorce proceedings; perhaps I wouldn't have needed to do the modifications because my case would have been handled differently/better from the beginning. I hope to not need a family law attorney again in the future, but if I do, I am immediately calling Jonathan again.

I highly recommend Jonathan Moffitt to any of my family, friends, co-workers and etc.. I had another attorney working on my case for over a year and I didn't see any sense in paying that attorney more when no action what being made. I like him as a person. I tried to hire another attorney from Envision Law firm, however he was too busy with other cases so he recommended Johnathan, and I hired Jonathan. I gave him a lot of money. I got a lot of nothing. I got a child support order based off of an income higher than my actual in...come and in direct violation of WA State Law regarding VA SMC Pay. I never had a mediation. Even after paying 5k down and roughly 2k a month several months. Neither my wife or I wanted a trial. He pushed for one and gave me 3 weeks notice to give him another 15k or he would quit. I was always a good and timely payer. Now we are looking at an informal trial, and she will have representation and I will not. My lawyer costed me more. But it helped none. Now with a small balance owed and him quitting, Envision is contacting me and even my mother constantly. As though they didn't just take a ton of money and leave me high and dry.
