Outstanding attorney

I am writing this review of attorney Scott Blankenship to share the details of my experience with him to help others who are seeking legal representation. I recently needed his assistance again and the experience caused me to reflect on the quality of service that he provides and the quality person t...hat he is. Previously, I hired Scott as my attorney to represent me with an employment matter. This was the first time that I ever needed to hire an attorney. The process that I went through to find the right representation was not easy. When in distress, many of us are emotional and we want help immediately. When finding help is a challenge it only exasperates how one feels. I contacted four different legal firms, one of which was The Blankenship Law Firm. Two firms did not return my call after I provided their assistants with the details of my dispute; this was very discouraging. I met with another attorney at their office who showed little interest or empathy for my situation, but they gladly had me pay their fee at the end of our one hour meeting. My experience with the fourth firm that I contacted, The Blankenship Law Firm, was different. I left the same message with Scott Blankenship's assistant that I had left at the other three firms. I was told that Scott wasn't available but a time was scheduled when we could talk. After Scott and I talked by phone we scheduled a time to meet at his office. We discussed my situation in detail. I was impressed with how well he listened, how he engaged me and the questions that he asked. He felt strongly that I had a case that we could go forward with. We discussed his fee structure which I thought was fair and in-line with industry practices. I now had my attorney. Even though there was considerable time and work ahead of us to reach the finish line, knowing that I had someone of Scott's caliber assisting me and handling the strategy was a tremendous relief. Throughout my case I saw several things in Scott that reminded me that I had made the right decision. He showed that he cared for me and my situation. He was always a straight communicator. He was ethical. He was consistent. He had integrity. He coached me and helped me clearly understand what mattered and what did not, in order for us to possibly prevail. He never made any guarantees on what the outcome would be but he felt strongly that we had a good chance to succeed. There were times when the process was not moving along as fast as I would have liked but that was not because of Scott. He reminded me to remain patient because sometimes our expectations of time, as well as the final results, are not always realistic. Fortunately, we prevailed. I would recommend Scott and his team to anyone who is in need of an employment attorney who is formidable and does the very best he can to get the best possible result for his clients. The traits that I used to describe Scott in the preceding paragraph were always present from the beginning to the end. As I mentioned at the beginning of this review, I recently contacted Scott on another matter because I have total confidence in his abilities. I look forward to working with him again and do so with no hesitation.

Justice Achieved

I retained The Blankenship Law Firm after being subjected to a hostile, discriminative, and retaliatory work environment. I was treated unfairly, and I was isolated and prosecuted for speaking out against these matters. I left the job feeling hopeless, depressed, financially deprived, and the situati...on impacted me greatly and emotionally. I met Scott Blankenship through an acquaintance with a matter close to mine. Upon meeting Scott, his associate, Rick Goldsworthy, and the staff at The Blankenship Law Firm, I was quite impressed with their professionalism, friendliness, and the remarkable report they had within the law community. I felt like part of the family. Scott and his colleagues worked diligently in getting this matter resolved and getting me compensation for the wrong that was done to me by my former employer. The outcome was more than fair and favorable. I recommend these individuals to anyone that has experienced employment retaliation and discrimination.

Scott Blankenship is exceptionally capable and dedicated. I am forever grateful.

Scott Blankenship is a great litigation attorney! He achieved a great settlement for me and my family through diligence and aggressive but thoughtful action. Furthermore, Scott and his staff were always sensitive to the personal aspects of our case. We always knew that Scott was in our corner.

Senior Engineer of a Fortune 500 Company

Having had the opportunity to witness and make substantial contribution to the growth of one of the largest and fastest growing corporations over the past decade had always made me feel proud. For the most recent years, working full time at the same company with a serious disability had also been... something that gave me so much hope and purpose in life until all of a sudden the reasonable accommodation I had been officially receiving was abruptly taken away from me by a new management following my medical leave. Then one event after another started to evolve blurring the boundary between a bad noir story and an outright nightmare. Before long, I found myself working very long hours, struggling with a serious disease and at the same time fighting discrimination at a place I loved so much. In the months that followed, I complained to the company time and again, but to no avail. Along the way, I discovered the sad reality that as long as someone is labelled "low performer", even when the premise is completely false, the whole corporate machine would crushing down on you like a hurricane without any mercy and never bother to check on the supporting facts. At last, I gathered all my energy, wrote through many dark nights, and finally filed an official complaint in writing. I was issued an official response the very next day - a termination letter. Looking for an attorney to take my case then became another uphill battle until Greg from Scott's team called passionately, following a conversation with one of my witnesses. To summarize Scott's team, the words from one of the firm's past clients come to my mind - personable professional, success. Along the process, I delightedly discovered Scott's team has quite an interesting mix of personalities under their attorney's dark suits. Aside from being extremely intelligent, they are indeed a passionate bunch. As a client, you not only will feel very safe with your case in their hands, but also you will feel being blessed to be associated with these people that can make a legal struggle that much different from what one usually expects. They went through extra miles to shield unnecessary pressure and anxiety from their clients, while at the same time, worked diligently to protecting client's interests. At the end of the day, I feel satisfied that my lost pay was reasonably compensated, Scott's team was rewarded for their hard work, and I got a sense of justice. Although my case ends here, I believe without a doubt that the story with Scott's team will continue. With their almost contagious passion and exceptionally persistent fight for justice, certain corporations' bad behaviors will change and our society could become an even better place for all the hard working good people to enjoy their lives without having to face any type of wrongful discrimination.

A True Legal Warrior...

Scott Blankenship: Tenacious, focused, a true legal warrior. He helped re-establish my integrity as a Police Officer following the unlawful termination of my unblemished law enforcement career with the Vancouver (WA) Police Department. His expertise & willingness to take the fight to the end ...caused the City of Vancouver to pay the largest single employment discrimination settlement in the NW (according to Jury Verdicts Northwest), $1,650,000. His team also returned my credentials as a “Retired” police officer “In Good Standing”. As a result citizens from SW Washington, Portland, OR, & PoliceOfficers with the Fraternal Order of Police have begun writing to the US Dept of Justice & the FBI to investigate the corrupt practices within the City Attorney’s office, the Office of the Chief of Police, and the Vancouver City Manager. I would recommend Scott and his team, at any time, for any fight. Scott has once again garnered a reputation for taking on the Right Fight…& winning!

"I had the pleasure to work with Scott as co-counsel in the race discrimination trial of Zhang v. American Gem Seafoods. The jury returned a verdict of $3,100,000.00, which is one of the highest awards ever returned for this type of case. Scott fought for this client serving as appellate and lead counsel all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. He ultimately obtained a final recovery of close to $4,000,000.00. This exceptional outcome is a testament to Scott’s high standards of trial preparation, tenaciousness in court, and skill as an appellate lawyer. I have no hesitation in recommending Scott to any potential client. Peter M. Brown, Dawson-Brown ps"
