Fantastic criminal defense!

Blake Dore is a truly outstanding attorney who goes above and beyond to ensure that he protects his clients. I would highly recommend him to anyone who finds themselves on the wrong side of the law.

Highly Recommended

Blake Dore worked tirelessly on my case, keeping me informed and defending me from some terrible false allegations. He is truly an effective trial lawyer and obviously has a bright future in law.

A generally lackluster, impersonal, and inadequate defense.

After both reading over my own case materials and interacting with Mr. Dore personally, I feel obliged to write a review warning any potential clients about the impersonal and inadequate nature of Mr. Dore's approach to law. First, I'll provide a brief synopsis of my own case: I was cited in OR f...or exceeding the speed limit. The officer who pulled me over seemed very competent and was definitely just doing his job; however, this was my first offense. Unfortunately, I could not make my court date because of preexisting circumstances so I looked online and hired Mr. Dore to represent me. After delaying my court date for several months with limited communication about the status of my case, Mr. Dore finally went to court. He basically argued that the officer was out of his jurisdiction and that the officer did not lay proper foundation in court to show that he was trained in the use of his radar device. The officer did, however, tell the court that he was trained in the use of radar devices (note: "devices" is plural), just not the specific one that he used to clock me. Instead of focusing on the fact that I am a great student, this was my first offense, and the other things that I would have thought to say if I had been able to make my own court date, Mr. Dore focused on a small, but largely irrelevant distinction in the officer's testimony. This attitude is indicative of the way he approached our entire relationship. He did not take the time to get to know me personally and because of that, was not able to do the job I wanted him to do -- represent me in court. Instead, Mr. Dore stuck to a script of legal loopholes that ended up loosing this case. Needless to say, the judge did not agree with Mr. Dore's hyper-textualist interpretation of the law and Mr. Dore lost my case. In the end, I ended up having to pay over three times the amount of my original ticket because of this.

Insufficient preparation and communication

I hired Blake Dore of Dore Law Firm to represent me in a traffic case in Clackamas County Justice Court. Based on my experience, Blake Dore came to court without having adequately prepared or developed arguments for the case. I was informed for the first time shortly before the hearing that he bel...ieved the County’s case was essentially “bulletproof” and that there were no viable arguments to make. This assessment was not communicated in advance, and there was no prior discussion of strategy or whether proceeding to trial was advisable. After the hearing, I asked specific questions about why certain arguments were not raised, particularly arguments based on the correct revision of the manufacturer’s manual that corresponded to the radar unit actually used in my case. Blake Dore acknowledged that those arguments were not made and explained that decisions were driven largely by how he believed the judge would react, rather than by the substance of the arguments themselves. When I pressed for explanations, my questions were not meaningfully engaged with. Preparation was described primarily in terms of obtaining discovery, negotiating, and the officer “checking the boxes” the judge typically requires, rather than coming to court with fully developed arguments. Additionally, I was not contacted after the trial to be informed of the outcome. I did not receive notice that the case had been lost until 17 days later, when I was finally sent a message through the firm’s online portal. I understand that not every case can be won. However, I expect advance communication, clear strategy discussions, and timely follow-up. Based on my experience, those standards were not met, and I would not recommend hiring Blake Dore. I believe it would be a more sound decision to retain a different attorney.

Failed to appear, failed to disclose critical information.

Non-responsive, fails to attend court, then fails to fix the issue. I'm filing a complaint with the Oregon State bar Association. Also, fails to disclose important information. Mr. Blake failed to appear on my behalf, then didn't request a change in venue to a Municipal court within 30 days after... which would have fixed the issue, he failed to suggest the change of venue strategy while I was out of the country. Instead, he just said the Justice in the matter wanted a signed affidavit from me, taking the blame for his Failure to Appear. Finally, when he saw that I wouldn't lie for him with that local Justice, he pushed me off on to another lawyer (friend) who did absolutely nothing! Would give zero stars if I could. Mr. Blake convinced me to appeal a case to the Oregon Court of Appeals. He failed to disclose how long it would take or that I'd be on the hook for legal fee's of the other side when we duly lost. If I had that information, I probably would not have approved going for an appeal. Use extreme caution if you're using Mr Dore.
