Damir Anver Kouliev

I was visiting Hawaii during the summer, and rented a car to drive up to Mauna Kea to check out the observatories. Afterwards, I was driving back, late, down the deserted highway, on a downhill section. There's a part where it goes from 60 to 40, for no good reason IMHO. I missed the sign noting the ...change, and my car's GPS had it at 55 (yeah, yeah the legal limit is the sign). Anyways, a cop was sitting with a laser gun, and got me. I thought it was kinda bogus, so I wrote a letter contesting the charge (as suggested by the cop). That failed, so after consulting the interwebs, decided to hire a lawyer. Damir was the only lawyer on that island that I could find, so I went with him. Note that for the fee, he would negotiate with the State and attend one NON-trial Zoom hearing. Which was fine, since I was hoping to plead down to a non-moving violation for insurance reasons, and was pretty sure I would lose a real trial. We communicated via text and email, and I sent him copies of all the paperwork I had and later received. There was supposed to be some sort of pre-trial hearing before the actual trial, but the day before, the State cancelled it and converted it into a trial a month later. Not clear how that's OK, but whatever. So a few days before, I checked in with Damir to figure out what to do, because, again, the fee did not cover a trial. He got back to me later that day saying the prosecution agreed to drop the case! Mission accomplished and I was happy to have it off my record. Note that I had to handle communicating with the court administrative staff, especially with the non-trial to trial conversion. However, I suspect it kept the bill low, so I good with that. I'm sure some people are going to say that I broke the law and should have just sucked it up. Well, following the law, I hired an attorney and won by their rules. Anyways, if you've seen this review on other sites, it's because I posted it on multiple sites, and there's no way I'm writing site specific reviews.

We were so stressed about our case, but the stress went away as soon as we hired him knowing he was taking care of us!
