Not surprised

I'm not surprised to see that she has been suspended. I hired her several years back and meant to file a complaint, but never did. We made no progress on my divorce case because she didn't do anything. Then it got to the point she wouldn't return my calls or emails so I had to start over with some...one new. I see on the State Bar site that that there might be some mitigating factors, but when/if she comes back, I hope that she makes her clients her #1 priority. Attorneys are expensive enough, and wasting clients' time, money and emotional distress in the manner she did should never be allowed to happen.

Terrible representation!

We had Teresa Bristow for divorce. She regularly submitted continuances on our case or did not show up to court at all. We received no correspondence or call backs on the case, and finally had to finalize with a court mediator and a paralegal from Ms. Bristow's office. Luckily, we were finally able t...o file the divorce paperwork in November 2015, after nine months of pain over failures by Ms. Bristow's office.

"WORST" attorney you can have in SACRAMENTO

I do not recommend Teresa Bristow. I hired Teresa 1-3 years ago. Teresa handled my Divorce / Separation matter. I have previously worked with another lawyer. I hired Teresa to represent me a an uncontested divorce. In the 3 years relationship that I had with her she did not do anything except tak...e my check to the court to file the initial paperwork. None of the other paperwork was ever done, they lost documents and I got excuse after excuse why the paperwork wasn't done. I kept getting promises that the paperwork would be done "next week" and that she was in the processing of reviewing it. What should have taken 6 months to complete will now take me about 4 yearss!!! Do not waste your time, money or energy on hiring this attorney. She unresponsive and always unavailable. And I am about take her to state bar she jeopardise my divorce case.... And i am also about to sue Teresa Bristow for incompetencemy case.

AMAZING! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THAT YOU DID FOR ME!!!

I do not understand the negative reviews for Ms. Bristow as she was extremely kind, knowledgeable, prompt and respectful of my situation. Her staff is super friendly and went above and beyond to help me when she was unavailable from the beginning to the end. She kept me informed every step of the way... and even emailed me after hours when I was having a hard time with my husband on one occasion. In court she was amazing and never backed down. Every hurdle my husbands attorney tried to throw at me and my case, she was there to fight for me. Hopefully I will not need an attorney again, but if I do I will definitely go back to Ms. Bristow. After it was all said and done, my ex even said that he was upset that his attorney didn't fight as hard for him and wasn't as good as mine!

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I endorse this attorney. Teresa Bristow has been a colleague for several years, during which I have had the pleasure of working with her on multiple contested matters and in settlement negotiations. In family law mattes, which can be particularly emotionally-charged, it is often difficult to combine diligent representation with dignity and grace. Teresa possesses the ability to maintain her professionalism while protecting her client's interests, even in the most contested of matters. She is able to work amicably towards an equitable resolution with the best interests of her client in mind. I am happy to endorse and recommend Teresa. She is an experienced and knowledgeable member of the Sacramento Family Law community. Teresa works diligently for her clients to achieve fair and equitable results."
