Teresa Faye Bristow

I'm not surprised to see that she has been suspended. I hired her several years back and meant to file a complaint, but never did. We made no progress on my divorce case because she didn't do anything. Then it got to the point she wouldn't return my calls or emails so I had to start over with some...one new. I see on the State Bar site that that there might be some mitigating factors, but when/if she comes back, I hope that she makes her clients her #1 priority. Attorneys are expensive enough, and wasting clients' time, money and emotional distress in the manner she did should never be allowed to happen.

I do not recommend Teresa Bristow. I hired Teresa 1-3 years ago. Teresa handled my Divorce / Separation matter. I have previously worked with another lawyer. I hired Teresa to represent me a an uncontested divorce. In the 3 years relationship that I had with her she did not do anything except tak...e my check to the court to file the initial paperwork. None of the other paperwork was ever done, they lost documents and I got excuse after excuse why the paperwork wasn't done. I kept getting promises that the paperwork would be done "next week" and that she was in the processing of reviewing it. What should have taken 6 months to complete will now take me about 4 yearss!!! Do not waste your time, money or energy on hiring this attorney. She unresponsive and always unavailable. And I am about take her to state bar she jeopardise my divorce case.... And i am also about to sue Teresa Bristow for incompetencemy case.

I was so disappointed by the service I received from Ms. Bristow. Nothing was tended to in a prompt manner, and it is almost impossible to get a phone call or email back. This case is personal and involves my children, and she acted like she never cared at all. Never felt like I had an advocate or so...meone fighting for me. In addition to all that, she has a new assistant is who is so rude and acts like everything is a bother for her. I've also noticed that her assistant seems to be gone a lot so often nobody is answering phones or there to even take a message. Bottom line is nobody at that office cares about you or your case, but they will sure take your money. They don't return phone calls or emails and act put out by every little thing. There are plenty of good family law attorneys in sacramento, I'm sure, but Teresa is NOT one of them.

A simple divorce, whereby all of the foot work and asset split was done in advance, all this attorney and her assistant had to do is file the papers with the x and keep me informed. Absolutely the worst followup, I had to constantly call to find out what was going on. Would not get phone calls back. ...Would be told by her assistant Lorine that she would call back and wouldn't. Could not answer simple questions and would say would have to check with Theresa the Attorney and then not call me back. It took 1 year to get a divorce that should have been done last year 6 months ago. It cost me money since I had to carry this person on my health and dental coverage. Absolute the worst experience with an Attorney not that any of them are pleasant, but this was bad.
