Jason R. Sherlock is the CFO and a shareholder of Sherlock // Anderson,pc. In addition, he is certified by the Board of Legal Specialization, State Bar of California as a family law specialist. Jason works closely with the courts and the legal community as a member of the Placer County Child Custody Sub - Committee and actively participates with the Sacramento and Placer County Bar Associations. Jason received his undergraduate degree from California State University, Sacramento in 2005, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice and a Pre-Law emphasis. He received his Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2007, where he diligently worked on his craft as a trial attorney under the guidance and coaching of some of the best legal minds in Southern California. Jason was active in competitive trial advocacy, alternative dispute resolution and received awards for his Pro Bono work in the San Diego area.
Jason specializes in family law in the Greater Sacramento area emphasizing Placer, Yolo, El Dorado and Sacramento,Counties. His practice is focused on family law litigation, including marital and domestic partnership dissolution, parental and third-party custody, support, property division, business valuation, UCCJEA, guardianships, premarital agreements, and juvenile dependency matters. Jason began his practice with an emphasis on juvenile law and over the years has expanded to all areas of family law including complex asset division. Jason is also licensed in the United States District Court of the Eastern District of California.
Jason began his legal career as a juvenile attorney, and went on to develop his skills as a successful trial lawyer. Prior to developing Sherlock // Anderson, pc with the President, Sara Anne Anderson, Jason developed thriving family law practices for 3 different statewide law firms. He has handled all areas of family law from the simplest amicable dissolution to complex divisions of assets and child custody. Where Ms. Anderson brings the balance of power by focusing on mediation and successfully negotiating the most difficult cases, Jason takes the unresolvable matters before the court and artfully presents his client's matters in a way that is aimed at achieving the best possible result. Jason and Sara work collectively on most matters to ensure that every client receives the balance of collaboration coupled with the skills of courtroom navigation making the final outcome one where every party is assured that no stone was left unturned.
Jason has lectured on issues regarding juvenile dependency, human trafficking, child custody and jurisdiction including individual parental rights. In the past he has appeared as a special guest on a California money talk radio broadcast, discussing the intricate relationship between real estate, investing and family law. Jason has worked locally with Sacramento CASA and Fresno EEOC to educate the community on family law issues.
