Corinne Rae Coston

I hired Corinne to help with a messy divorce involving kids. She was blunt but presented herself as the typical “bulldog” lawyer that was going to fight for me and ensure my ex didn’t screw me over financially. Instead what I got were wasted dollars and someone difficult to get ahold of, taking somet...imes days to respond. A week before the biggest court date involving different custody terms I get a message from my ex asking me why I signed a form and dropped my lawyer. I stated I never signed a form on the particular date and was still under the impression we were under contract. I come to find out she used a fork she made me sign at the beginning which she stated “in case you ever find another lawyer” but instead filled it out as if I voluntarily dropped her, which I didn’t and was a lie. She never emailed me and my calls to the office went to VM. BUT when I called from a different number I got an answer from the paralegal who was dodgy and claimed she didn’t know too much on why Corinne dropped me and how she was “surprised” Corinne didn’t call or email me. She stated I should expect a check and a letter in the mail. Weird. Don’t recommend her at all. She is misleading.

At first she sounded great straight forward but as time went by and court came around not so much. I email and called the Thursday before court on Monday to check on case. We were asking for full custody, attorney fees , current and back child support that was false. and I ask her and her assistant... to request a I&E from my ex attorney witch and ask for a month extension and Corinne gave them only I got no awnser and response to email. Morning of court she asking for a 2-2-3 visitation not full custody that we talk about and told the judge she did not get a response from other party attorney. They argue I broke a rule by using volgar language but we did not have evidence to prove them wrong because we did not have there response of false lie. Of course I lost time with my son and now have to drive 6 to 8 hr to get him for one over night. Corinne assistant informed me they had ther response that Friday before court but Corinne did have it nor did I get it to prove there lies While in Corinne office to get awnser she tells me to pay my back child support this it all my fualt witch was and I did not give her the information she needed. Me and my fiancé sat with her assistant several times going over what papers I had and I supply her with any and all papers they email asking for. Very very poor job. If she didn't want to take on my case then she should have said no. Instead I'm now out lots of money I could have done better with out a attorney

When hiring her for a motion for modification for child support because an order was changed by a court commissioner with no authority to hear my case let alone change my order, she proceeded without acknowledging what had taken place was done in error on behalf of the commissioner who never had been... authorized initially. Secondly, when providing her with photos of my son who had been beaten by another child with his face clearly bruised she responded by saying it wasn't that bad whereas his face was badly bruised and battered. While in mediation she failed to communicate with the mediator neglecting to bring the photos I had provided her with and proceeded to blame me for not communicating in a manner she felt sufficient for her standards assuming I knew what to do without proper instruction by her. Lastly, use preparing to set a trial date, she informed me that for her to proceed with my case she needed $4,000 to start for a trial. It was one of the worse encounters I had with an attorney, she was rude often yelling and being disrespectful claiming she did that to all her clients. She made me feel like she had no genuine concern for my kids, my case nor myself as her client.

All I can say she was grate and loved that she was very straightforward and got to the point and help me gain full custody of my son she is really good and i would referre her to family and friends we been doing very well since 2010thanks again Corinne and her receptionist sincerely a very happy c...lient Corinna;)

Corinne has been my attorney during a very long and contentious visitation and custody case. In spite of multiple uninformed decisions by myself during my divorce, she has helped me salvage most of my rights. I wish I had known to hire an attorney when I separated from my spouse, it is only in hindsi...ght that I realized how much a partner can change once you break up. Although it costs money to hire an attorney, and both parties might seem agreeable, I now advise anyone I know getting divorced to at least talk to an attorney first. After knowing Corinne for a few years now, she has been consistant, direct, and prompt. I did read other people's reviews on Avvo and think it is important to say that she has been courteous to me, and on any occasion that she thought she may have been too curt or rough, she has called to smooth things out. She has told me what I need to know, which has been much more helpful than telling me what I might like to hear. She has gone above and beyond to communicate with me, and has been very understanding of my needs and especially my children's needs. We have been lucky to have her represent us.
