Unprofessional. Unreliable. DO NOT HIRE!! This woman should be reported for malpractice. Her (complete lack of) representation is fraudulent and a waste of time, hope and money. Theresa was referred to us via another lawyer. Theresa regularly did not return phone calls. She failed to appear for us... in court. She was rude and unprofessional on several occasions within email correspondences. She helped us with absolutely nothing, other than forwarding court documents which we received personally anyway. Her lack of representation should be illegal

I have lived in Mammoth Lakes, Ca now for about 18 years. I was introduced to Therese through a friend of mine and right away she came off as a very polite, very sweet and very professional person. I had gotten myself into a little trouble and i decided to give her a call and ask her thoughts on my s...ituation. She was very helpful and answered any questions i had about my case. She has kept in touch about everything that is going on with my case and has given me great legal advice. Therese is very personable and has great respect for her clients. I definitely recommend giving her a call if you need a good lawyer in the area. I have spoken with other lawyers and had other lawyers in the past and none of them even come close to Therese Hankel as far as being professional and most importantly easy to talk to. She goes out of her way to do anything and everything she can to make sure you get the best deal possible for your case.

Our agency hired Attorney Hankel for a a very complicated case, and we prevailed due to her vast knowledge and experience with the local justice system. Attorney Hankel was at all times highly dedicated, professional, communicative on all aspects of the case, demonstrated the highest degree of legal... acumen, integrity and commitment to us/her client. Without any reservation or hesitation, our agency would retain Attorney Hankel's services again.

ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. Therese will "woo" you with her "acting talents" whack your ATM card TWICE when you gave her specific dates for deposit and final charge. Yet, her office still took it upon themselves to Charge my card when they felt like it and they ALL failed to provide me with an updated c...ontract to be signed or which I NEVER did sign as they NEVER sent the updated contract.... THAT should of been my FIRST CLUE. She and Dana Crom (District Attorney) failed in every WAY. I can provide PROOF as I saved EVERY SINGLE EMAIL/CONTACT from the time I hired THERESE. EVERY EXCUSE why she ALWAYS failed to respond to my emails & calls, failed to show up at court dates, failed to provide my brief for almost 6 weeks, you name it much less failed MY CASE. Key note I was NOT driving, AGAIN, NOT driving. It was my FIRST offense. Yet, I got the MAX punishment thanks to Dana Crom (DA) who is ALWAYS hurt or having surgery. Ooops, I'm going into the NUMEROUS excuses. I'm not one to leave negative reviews but the FINAL straw was at the time of my final court date (a year in the making) Therese via "text" let me know I received 80 hours of community service along with who knows WHAT ELSE MY PENALTIES ARE because TO THIS DAY 11/07/2016 she has failed to provide me with the much needed information I asked for over and over again, please give me the info on where and how I sign up for my punishment instead I got this LOVELY letter for the DMV that my driving privileges had been suspended for over 3 weeks. I cannot express how many times I explained in my emails & calls I am a single mother of TWO young sons please provide me with ALL information in my county (I live 5 hours from INYO county) so that I may be prepared. Instead Therese ignored myself and my family who lives in Inyo county. SO for 3 weeks I've been driving around, to school and back, errands you name it on a suspend license not knowing it thank you from "up above" that I did NOT get pulled over and taken to jail as I would of IN FRONT OF MY TWO YOUNG SONS. SO for that ALONE this is MY last straw of being ignored. IF you want to see what kind of attorney (key note ACTRESS) Therese truly is contact me via email and I will provide you with ALL emails between her and I through-out my year long case and you will see to NOT to hire her. One Last note: Therese once asked me this during my case "why don't you and your partner show up at court and defend your case" First, I thought she was defending my case?? Second, Therese KNOWS I live 5 hours from Bishop, CA and in-fact that court date was in Independence, CA further south of Bishop at 8:30am. She in-fact said this to me 2 days before the court date, so she wanted to us to give up our jobs with a 48 hour notice and wake up at 2am to "possibly" make it in time for court to defend my case! WOW!

Therese Hankel is the kindest, most intelligent and hard-working lawyer you could ask for. She patiently listened as I told her how I was struggling with the stresses of being a newly single mom and how terrified I was to be in the legal situation I had found myself. Therese sweetly shook her head ...and told me SHE was going to handle everything from there. I was no longer to worry about anything and that she had it covered. So she did! My situation was handled quickly and I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. She was available to me throughout the process via phone calls, texts and e-mails. I am so satisfied with the outstanding job Ms. Hankel did. Very suprising to see anything less than 5 stars across the board. Must be her competition! :)
