In November of 2007 I had the unfortunate experience of being pulled over late in the evening by the Highway Patrol on my way home from a party. While I felt capable of driving it was still a serious mistake on my part after having had several glasses of wine that evening. I was arrested for driving ...under the influence of alcohol. The next day I immediately began researching who I might retain to provide me with the best legal defense in this situation. After a couple of days of looking in to this and speaking to quite a few attorneys, it was pretty clear to me that Mindy McQueen, compared to the other folks I had spoken to, was a straight shooter, direct and to the point, no games and no "feel good" chatter. I was a client of Mindy McQueen about 4 years ago. I hired Mindy to represent me in the court for my first offense misdemeanor DUI. Unfortunately, I believe my case was not handled professionally. For example, I never got any feedback about the status of my case in a professional manner. I was treate...d with disrespect ever time I called her. I almost called her like once "a month" and I was really polite to her, but she was upset why I called her on Monday afternoon (yet it was during office hour!). I got the maximum possible punishment for a first offense DUI! Also, Mindy told me that I had to do the jail-time and she said there was no way to convert that jail-time to a work-release, but I found out it was not true at all. I decided to handle my case by myself and I showed up to the court and the court accepted my request to convert the jail-time to work-release.

I retained Ms McQueen to defend my son against a section 23154 probation violoation. He was facing a year suspension of his license. Mf Mindy represented him at both the DMV hearing and in court. Because of her expertise with this new law, she was able to get him acquitted of the 23154 violations. Be...cause he was acquitted, the DMV hearing was overruled and he was able to retain his license. Mindy kept us informed and showed great care and empathy toward my son. She knows her way around DUI problems and I highly recommend her.
