Disappointment

Ken is fine. If he passes you to Mike Hanna do yourself a favor & RUN. Mike screwed up my case BIG time. He was paid to complete & file paperwork which he had a MONTH to do but just didn’t bother. He was constantly contacted & reminded about this paperwork that had a deadline, yet he still failed to ...do the work. There was no excuse/reason as to why he didn’t do it. Not even an apology. This resulted in my easily winnable case being transformed into a complete nightmare. The whole case should have been thrown out. It’s still going on. If he did the work he was paid to do, I wouldn’t be in this mess. After massively botching up my case Mike did some free work, as he should have. If he didn’t mess up so badly he wouldn’t of had to. Even then he was making a range of mistakes with paperwork, filing, WHERE to file. The number of mistakes he made is absurd, I had to point them out to him & have them corrected. He gave legal advice that was either regurgitated from Ken, wrong or he seemed like he was making a blind guess. He has poor communication. $75 per email, $6 p/min hotline; to talk to someone who doesn’t even know what they’re doing?Absolute joke. His response to most questions is “Let me ask Ken” - is there anything you do know? I’m calling your $6 p/min hotline to receive legal advice/help from you. Mike would always say “I’ll get back to you”. Never would. I’d follow up with emails+texts asking if he could get back to me like he promised. If he did decide to grace me with a response, it wouldn’t be until days later after constant persistence. I asked multiple times if he had any issues with me due to the way he was treating me + my case, only for him to deny he had; yet continued with his unprofessional behavior. Mistakes related to my case could have been realized if he put the effort into doing some research. I found legal arguments for myself just by looking online. I am not educated/trained in law, yet I found discrepancies in my case which he didn’t pick up. It’s questionable whether he actually looked through my case file. If he had any passion for the line of work he’s in, maybe he would put in some effort & find these things out for himself. I raised my concerns to Ken. Pointed out mistakes made, his insufficiency when it came to communication… I asked if my case could be reassigned to someone else. Ken denied + advised that if I wanted to get ahold of Mike I would have to call his hotline. Why should anyone be paying for “I’ll ask Ken” or to chase him for not getting back on something as promised? Money is the motive, no professional pride. Mike is a provisional lawyer under Ken’s supervision. I don’t think he’s getting the supervision needed based on his level of work, that’s if he decides to do it. This is my life that has been messed up due to Mike’s actions & lack of. As stated, Ken knew of my concerns & didn’t do much to ease them. He is as much to blame as Mike. Ken once said to me, & I quote; “I don’t think Mike explained it correctly, so I’ll explain”. Why have him working on my case (which he clearly didn’t care about) or anyone else’s if you, his employer don’t even have confidence in him? At the end, both Ken + Mike completely ignored me after having sent emails asking for help & asking if they had any issues with me. To even have to ask that question is a red flag in itself. I have a hearing coming up which they were supposed to be helping me with & there’s been nothing but radio silence. They’ve left me in a mess they essentially created. Not only that, they don’t even have the courtesy to let me know that they decided to recuse themselves from my case. If you want a professional lawyer who cares about their clients, I would recommend elsewhere. Because of their incompetence, I was on the brink of filing for bankruptcy- which I told both Ken&Mike, asking for help only to be ignored. I’ve now paid a PARALEGAL to look at my case who noticed my judgement is void & is fixing their mistakes

Helping me as a tenant with abusive Landlord COVID-19 hell who renting me illegal property, Wish more lawyers were like him!

I had a hellatious experience during COVID where the landlord rented me an illegal rental and shut me out of using the washer and dryer etc stated in the lease after I moved, and he was disapproving about my disability, orientation, etc. In the middle of a stay at home order this is cruel and unusual... punishment to do to a paying tenant just because you as a landlord think your "lifestyles are not compatible" with the tenant. My original lawyer got suspended and the retainer I paid went to waste as I did not receive value for the services which were not completed and I was left hi and dry. I was starting to feel hopeless with my case and overwhelmed. Ken stepped in and with his "a la carte, bite-sized" consultations and step by step information gave me the confidence to proceed with my case. I am still early on in my work with him but I knew I made the right choice to get his help. An injustice for one is an injustice for all. Ken fights for the underdog and knows the law, code, & procedures...He is expert in tenant advocacy, I highly recommend. I am not a litigious person but what happened to me during COVID-19 at the hands of an aggressive abusive landlord renting me a fraudulent property then abusing me while I was in it was so egregious that I absolutely had to stand up--Ken is giving a clear path to prevailing against fraud. He even made suggestions to SAVE me money not spend it or waste it on unnecessary lawyer services.

COVID EVICTION NIGHTMARE

I became acquainted with Ken during the pandemic, as he was recommended to me by an attorney friend of mine who researched my situation. I was getting evicted during the middle of the pandemic due to owner move in (My landlord was an attorney who figured a way around the moratorium. The first consult...ation was kind of vague and just ken feeling out the particulars and then he made a recommendation to say something to the other side. Which was my landlord (a real estate attorney) with her own attorney also. Since money was tight for the first time in my life due to the pandemic, I could not just hire an attorney and throw loads of money at it. On the second consultation, when I got back to Kenneth with more details from their first response, his strategy was exactly what I needed to deal with two attorneys. He gave me the confidence to go head-to-head with two professional grade A pricks. His strategy worked 100% and was a huge relief during the most stressful time of my life. I would highly recommend anybody who wants results without spending loads of money on attorney’s fees. He has great resources for free and puts the ball back in your court. I have already recommended him friends.10 + Stars, Thanks Ken!!

4 Years!!!! One of the Longest Running Cases Ever!

I am writing this letter today, an amazing 4 years after Ken began helping me and my 94 year old Mother fight an eviction from our home, by a Bank who took back the home in foreclosure from the owner. He is a wonderful human being and a stellar Attorney. His knowledge of the law is nothing short of... amazing. Ken helped us fight 4 unlawful evictions which we won, and file a Civil Case against the Bank. Our 4 year long journey together was hard fought and I will always be grateful for him and all he has done to help us. Just saying thank him isn’t enough. - Rebecca

Ken is super-nice person

Ken is very personable and gives you a 'relief' when you talk to him. You must read his 'This is how we do things' VERY thoroughly, word for word, beginning to end. Its in black and white: $6/minute for calls (no matter what is discussed or accomplished, $75/email (no matter the topic, if its a reply... or even asking what the balance is), they only prepare you for court and dont appear (they can also ignore you on or right before your hearing if they choose to do so), they can charge any amounts regardless of what is on their website or what was quoted to you (a $75 Quash can end up being $1000, even if the Quash was filed incorrectly and in their accidental/purposeful actions), they may/may-not ever tell you your balance and each time you ask 'whats my balance as of today' they can charge you another $75 for your email and another $75 for their response which is always 'please call us' which is another $6/minute or $50 or whatever they feel like doing, and on and on. If this is acceptable, by all means hire them. If you want NOTHING done except calls/emails regarding what you owe them, look no further. If you want some type of assistance that actually helps or moves your case forward, STAY FAR AWAY. All these bad responses posted, are 100% true. All the good posts are done by them. Our opposing attorney even stated 'By hiring Carlson, we automatically won without a fight. Its only a matter of time before it catches up with them (Ken) and what their actually doing but he is making so much money of people like you (that would be me) that him and his team can retire and 100x over. I gave them $1150 and what I got in return was a 8 minute consultation where Ken never even looked at my case before, a rejected Quash and @30 emails all asking 'What is my current bill? What is the total?' Even after the Attorneys Bar Official complaint in Feb 2021, I still have NO idea where my $1150 went to. Had to do my court appearance without ANY help from them what-so-ever resulting in loss. My case was actually winnable. Provable real estate fraud from buyer and escrow duo. But without legal representation, which I assumed I had per $1150, I lost my house, lost my $150k equity, got 3 years of bad credit and ALL judgement went in the Defendants favor. Thanks You so much Ken & Julie, and Britneys constant emails (which I never opened/responded to, but still charged for)! We are now homeless & sleeping from park to park, my wife spent weekend in hospital trying to hurt herself, buyer got all of my possessions (16 years of contracting, tools, materials, etc.). Lost everything so you can have a measly $1150. How do you & your team sleep at night? I know, on piles of money!!! So do your research first, read their terms thoroughly. Theres 1000 other honest attorneys out there. Be smart and cautious!

Due to confidentiality, I am greatly restricted as to what can say. We handle evictions, but not foreclosures or other real estate transactions, so a loss of property or any equity in it was outside of our scope of work. We did what we were hired to do, but the judges and clerks went haywire. We need our client's cooperation and assistance in getting court papers and filing papers in court, which includes reading emails with those directions. We are accessible by Hotline for those who need action immediately. Those who follow our direction almost always do well, as the vast majority of my reviews reflect. All reviews are authentic, none by us, nor can we remove any.
