Got in contact with Ken 1 day before my Trial date for Eviction had my Evidence but was feeling unsure. My consultion with Ken was great he got right to the point on what I needed to do. I've worked with attorneys before, but I've never met an attorney who was this passionate about protecting tenant's rights. Here is the full story: The landlord wanted for all of us, tenants to pack up our kitchens, bathrooms, and closets and live in our apartments out of boxes, while they are renovating our apartments and then raise our rent. They did not proactively offer us any rent reduction or moving to another apartment or a hotel while the work is being done, and they told us that our pets will need to be crated while the construction workers are demolishing, banging, hammering and drilling in our apartments! Just typing this now I'm thinking... is this even real? What kind of monster landlord would do something like that to his tenants? And all of this is in the prime area of LA for $2,200 per month! There is more to the story: when these renovations are being done the kitchen is separated from the living room by a plastic with a zipper, there is no proper floor or ceiling, wires sticking out, dust everywhere, including your bathtub, sinks, stove, floor, you might even not have a sink for a few days, and you are pretty much walking and living in dust, extreme noise (nuisance), several construction workers having full access to your apartment during the business hours, who are extremely loud, even play music (!), hammering, drilling and demolishing your place.... Imagine yourself working from home, or leaving your pets in these conditions, or even leaving your private belongings (documents, laptops, other valuables with construction workers and your door wide open during the day!). Well, of course, this is illegal according to California law and the law of my city, but the landlord persisted on doing the renovations in my apartment as all of the apartments were being renovated at the same time. The problem is that many tenants don't know that this is illegal and simply comply without thinking that they have rights. Mr. Carlson has helped me through this situation. In the end, the landlord not only DID NOT enter my apartment to do the renovations at all (The landlord even attempted to evict me!), while the rest of the apartments were renovated, they offered a few favorable to me options and offered to pay me according to law as they got desperate to complete the renovations in the building. Ken is very knowledgeable and supportive. He will take care of you, just make sure to follow his directions. He is simply amazing. I've recommended Ken Carlson to other tenants and they are currently working with him, and are also very happy with his service and are amazed by how passionate he is about protecting us, tenants.

I feel blessed to have found someone like Ken Carlson to help me when my slumlord landlord decided to try and scare me out of my home. Just as he says on his site, I was afraid, unsure, and feeling like I had no recourse until I found Ken's website and started consulting with Ken and using his servic...e to prepare documents for the court. Not only has he helped me to take this slumlord to task but I have learned so much about the law and the corruption that is in our justice system. I was just in court yesterday and everything Ken had told me in my trial prep consultation happened, just as he said. The judge pro tem was just acting as a second lawyer for my landlord and tried to bully me into accepting an agreement that was definitely NOT in my best interests (we found out after from a lawyer that this "judge" IS a landlord lawyer....) Ken has guided me through every step and so far everything is going in my favor and I have been in this conflict since November of last year. When I started to waiver, thinking maybe their offer was a good one, my lifeline to Ken helped me to see how they were trying to trick me, and I was saved from making a very serious mistake in my case. The battle continues but with Ken in my corner I am confident that I will get the settlement I am due and I will never be afraid of landlords, or courts, again!

Ken Carlson was absolutely the best thing since sliced bread for me. I was dealing with the King of Difficult Landlords and facing an unlawful eviction until he explained to me that all hope was not lost. Ken provided me with a wealth of information, assisted me with filings, trial preparation, and... gave me the courage to face a very difficult Landlord who does little or nothing to maintain his property and nothing at all for the benefit of his tenants. Ken was patient and available at my beacon call, and made the process understandable for me and in essence it ended up being an enjoyable experience. What I liked best was that his materials were "right on the money", and he did not waste my time with 'nonsense' papers that the court clerks were attempting to require me to fill out. Ken held my hand through the whole thing and was even available to me during the settlement conference with my landlord and his lawyer. The icing on the cake was when my landlord's attorney stated the following: "You were a nightmare for me to defend my client, and I was flustered after dealing with you. You were the BEST prepared defendant I have ever encountered in my entire legal career." I thanked him for the compliment, and I just need to say that this is a testament to the power of what Ken Carson can do for you!! I would use his services again without hesitation, and I highly recommend him. He is easy to work with, has a phenomenal sense of humor and more importantly, if you use Ken's services and do everything the way that he tells you, YOU WILL WIN YOUR CASE!! I did. I basically got to stay in my home for another 45 days rent free, I got my security deposit back and he cannot put an eviction on my record. I also wiped out 6 months of back-pay on the rent, based on what Ken taught me. If I can do this, so can you! That's why I say that Ken Carson is the BOMB and he ROCKS!!
