Words can not begin to describe how HORRIBLE this law firm is. Mr. Isles' law firm indicates that "aggressive" legal representation is provided. Well, the only thing that was "aggressive" was the billing department. I had a custody case where my ex and I had shared joint legal/ joint physical custod...y. After about 2 hours with the mediator, it was the mediator's recommendation to the judge that I be awarded SOLE CUSTODY, even though I agreed to joint legal/physical IF my ex stayed in the area. This should have been a slam dunk for this lawyer. The judge disregarded the mediators recommendation and allowed my ex to take my son over 60 miles away, and I have about 45% custody. They billed per email, yet never responded to even one. Then billed me when I called and asked for follow up on the few emails that I sent. Do yourself a favor.. DO NOT USE THIS ATTORNEY!!!!!

I interviewedand retained Richard Isles, but he did not represent me. I was passed off to an incompitent associate. Horrible experience! In court she sat like a deer in the headlights as the judge handed down his orders. She did not fight for me even when the other party was not prepared and had...n't filed any response papers.

Mr. Isles was not very helpful with my most recent case. It took several phone calls later before I could get any followup from his office. His secretary was very rude when I called and never wanted to help when I had questions. All I was told was that I was going to be charged. Filling paperwork was... also not done on a timely manner. I would not recommend this attorney whatsoever.

Much like one of the other reviews here, I was assured that my divorce was "cookie cutter" and would quite definitely be handled within the original $3000 retainer which he requested. The retainer was exhausted before we even got to the first court hearing, at which time he requested another $2000. W...e got to court, and I expressed my concerns - Richard cut me off, and repeated that he had a good law firm, and that they were well worth the money. Overall nothing was agreed upon at that hearing. That appearance, by the way, was the only time that Richard himself ever bothered to come to court. I hired him as my attorney, but he sent two different attorneys to the other 3 court appearances and didn't bother to come himself. This is not what he promises on his website. Eventually (around 7 months later, and another $5000 or so later), my ex and I arrived at an agreement independently of his work. He congratulated me on this, then turned around and said he needed another $2000 to complete the work in order to prepare and file the documents with the court. After I said that I could not afford it, he sent me a letter saying that either I could sign a Substitution of Attorney to have him removed, or he was going to file with the court to have himself removed as my attorney of record. He further stated that if I didn't remove him as my attorney of record, he was raising his rates from $200 / hour to $350 / hour "per the retainer agreement". Overall, Richard left me strongly with the impression that his only interest was in gathering more money from his clients. He gave virtually no advice whatsoever - any advice that came out of his office came from his paralegals, not from him. He failed to represent me in court at all, and sent inexperienced and non-aggressive attorneys in his place when the court dates arrived. Richard gave the impression that he deliberately burned through any money that came his way as quickly as his could, in order to ask for more. Overall I put about $10,000 into his firm, and got almost nothing for it except a few filings, which could equally well have been prepared by paralegals. Maybe I should have just given my ex $5000 instead. Seems more productive! If you have any choice at all, please do not retain this attorney. It's a free consultation and a low initial rate, but you get what you pay for.

I wish I could say the same as the reveiw above. However, when I retained Mr Richard Isles he told me my retainer would cover my divorce and a few modifications for $ 2500. When I had a court date he sent another attorney who wasn't aggresive and didn't have the experience that Mr Isles had. I met so... many attornies before making my decision and I chose Richard Isles because of his experience and he seemed to be loyal to his clients. I was so disappointed that he hasn't been my attorney throught my whole case. I've only been to court once and the law office of Richard Isles has only filed papers for me once. Now that me and my soon to be ex husband have agreed, I received a bill in the mail saying I owe him an addition 2,200.00 on top of another $ 1,000 retainer. So all together I'm in the hole for $ 5700.00 for another attorney to representment me (One that I did not choose or sign up for) and for him to go to court with me once and file paper work for me once! How is this possible? They charged me attorney fees for everything even though the paralegals were handling all my paper work. $ 145.00 to send me the papers for me to sign and another $ 145.00 to make two little changes all in one day a total of $ 290.00 for that!! As a single mom barely making it by I was promised my case would be easy and that they would cover it with my retainer of $ 2500. They refuse to finalize my divorce unless I pay the full amount of my suprising bill. With a ridiculous soon to be ex husband, our deal will be off if they don't finalize it soon. When I retained Richard Isles I was excpecting him to be my attorney and he wasn't. I always was soo impressed with his aggresive style that I was hoping he would help me get everything I was asking for which wasn't much, I would of referred everyone I know to him but not anymore. I will never refer anyone to him after what they are putting me through. Be wise and do your research when looking for an attorney. I thought I did my research and found the best attorney but I was wrong.
