There are lawyers who look at you as their income and then there are lawyers who God blessed with the compassion and understanding of the law to defend those persons who don't know how to defend them them selves when they are thrown in the legal court system. Living in a No fault state of Californ...ia I thought that I didn't' have a chance, until I met Mrs. Powers I have to be very careful on what I say about my situation on social media, but I had to post a positive review about her, She is a God sent. She is so smart, if you have a potential fraud case she is that person to hire. Mrs. Powers is Family law at it's best a bonus when she specializes in Fraud. I could see by our conversation that she takes every situation personal. Which is what you want when an attorney is representing you. I hated to go through this but I won't be manipulated any longer from my husband that abandoned our family and a restaurant business venture he got us involved in. I can see that she will truly fight for the kids and I and I would like to do everything possible to let other persons who find them selves lost in this whole legal system of trying to find the right family law attorney to know of her. After the first lawyer sent me before a judge without representation and told me to just read off an email he sent me on what to say and a lawyer that just saw me as just another income I was giving up hope. I prayed about it this time, I had looked on Aavo before but Mrs. Powers name never came up. She is clearly the one and I would recommend her to anyone. Prior to my conversation with Athina Powers, I had never heard of her, in fact even before our call I didn't review her profile as I elected to allow AVVO to auto connect me with an attorney based on the nature of my situation in which case you're provided with the attorney's profile after the call.... My phone rang less than 5 minutes after I paid the AVVO fee... and shortly there after I realized I was speaking to an attorney who was clearly extremely capable. Athina listened to everything I had to say and then responded with the kind of confidence that can't be faked. Not only was she able to very clearly addressed the finer points of my concerns (which I thought I hadn't done a very good job explaining to her in the first place), but she didn't miss a thing, and then went on to point out a few possibilities that I hadn't occurred to me as viable options (and this is a testament to her intelligence considering the caliber of people who had previously been assisting me with my legal concerns). She brought a rare balance of knowing when to emphasize important points of my situation while simultaneously bringing a very appropriate sort of levity and humor to the conversation that not only provided me with a sense of empowerment but also an overwhelming feeling that I'm going to make it out of this situation and can do with flying colors. A few minutes after we finished our call I got follow up email from AVVO asking me to rate my experience with Athina. Her profile was attached to the email which was impressive to say the least and certainly came as no surprise as my experience was the type you have when you're dealing with the Real McCoy. By the way I have never responded to these sort of follow up "rating request" emails only because in the past they've seemed like a complete waist of time .. but Athina and my experience with AVVO is a horse of a different color and was so impressed that I wanted to share my experience and opinion with others who might need some reassurance in making a decision.
