I was dealing with a restraining order from an ex girlfriend. My story: I remember up wet and shaking on the floor of the slo prison not knowing why the arresting officer, all the time smirking and telling me that I was too drunk to remember, would state to the prison guards that I had been uncooperative , but believing that was behind the reason I was grabbed... forcefully, thrown into a secluded cell, shouted at, and told that my vital signs had already been taken when they had not. This is after I had been run off the road, had sustained a traumatic head injury, had injuries down my body, and had been told that I would be arrested if I did not answer all the DUI investigation questions. Early in the morning, after several hours of waiting, I was allowed to contact Ms. Goldman and have her council me for a DUI on a bicycle. I knew she was supportive and extremely knowledgeable of the local court system after I had retained her previously. Almost a year after the DA's office had not pressed charges at my arraingment, they decided to move forward. Jennifer informed me that the DA wanted me to plead guilty, admit to violating probation, and in exchange I would only be given an "official warning." Since there was no evidence provided to me that showed my blood alcohol level, and after reviewing the audio and video evidence that showed the conduct of the officers from the dash cameras, which included me being told in the back seat of the patrol car that the overly tight, constricting cuffs were "not designed to be comfortable" , and that if I had answered all the questions I may not be in the situation, Jennifer successfully argued the charges dropped! My thanks to Ms. Goldman again. If she were available up here, I would, without hesitation, hire her again to expunge my record, represent me in any future litigation involving SLO police officers, and to investigate why a LT, who told me he was at the same time investigating my complaints against the two officers, would tell me that the DA again refused a prosecution attempt after stating that, without my knowledge or consent, my blood sample had been retested. SLO Ridiculous and Lame. Thankfully Jennifer Goldman knows how to go for the throat with these professionals.

When I was arrested for my DUI in SLO, I was humiliated and crushed and was alienated by several people who I thought were close friends. Jennifer Goldman was the first person that made me feel like a human again and not the scum of the Earth. Being 15 hours apart and often not having a reliable internet connection, you would think it would be difficult to communicate the court proceedings. Since this was my first offense and my drivers license was out of state, dealing with the DMV and insurance was a nightmare of confusion. Jennifer helped me navigate through the mess and even helped me connect with a great insurance representative that helped me receive the insurance that would cover my particular case. The end result was a plea deal that dropped one of my charges and reduced my first offender alcohol program from 9 months to 3 months. I was also set me up with an alternative sentencing/community service so I did not have to serve jail time. It has now been over a year since I was arrested/convicted and Jennifer is now working to expunge my record. This is incredibly wonderful since I have moved to another state and cannot easily return to SLO. Also, as a recent graduate, there are many applications that have questions regarding criminal history that can be worded in a convoluted way. Jennifer always offers excellent guidance and reassurance on how to approach these questions. After each meeting/phone conversation she always sends a follow up email with reminders of what needs to be completed on your side and a summary of what was discussed. I am a resident of North Carolina, and I received a DUI while visiting my best friend and vacationing in San Luis Obispo, CA. This was my first visit to California, and having never been in any sort of legal trouble, I was mortified and confused. From what I gathered, SLO was one of the worst place...s in the country to get charged with a DUI, and not being a California resident just muddied the waters further. I called numerous attorneys in the vicinity of SLO, and even spoke to a few in my hometown. Ms. Goldman went above and beyond in every way. Her competence exceeded my hopes and expectations, and surpassed that of other attorneys with more experience.
