I was mixed up in an unfortunate situation that could have ended in a felony and prison time. Thankfully a friend of mine hooked me up with Dod immediately, and we were able to get out in front of my case. I live out of state and was in San Diego for vacation. While there I was arrested for a DUI. He's experienced, responsive, and genuinely empathetic -- the latter trait not found in all attorneys. I was falsely accused of a crime. He quickly called back to report, "I have good news. Your case is being dismissed." He seemed to be sincerely happy for me. My experience with DODLAW: 8/2021 I found myself facing 5 felon charges and did not who I could trust with my case, let alone tell my side of the story to. I decided to not trust a public defender or skimp on paying a mediocre attorney that could ultimately change the rest of my life. After many days of research, I decided DODLAW was the firm I wanted. This was the first win! My family, friends and I could not have been happier for the outcome. Next court date was mitigation. Basically, your attorney and DA try to come to an agreement on your case. This is where I saw Dod really outperform others in the court room. With my own eyes, I saw many of the other Attorneys I thought about hiring prior to the case just fall short of what I would call taking the case personal. The other attorneys to me just seemed to be “run of the mill”, did not aggressively build the cases they presented, and did not have the clout Dod did. Dod had told me from the beginning that the least amount of jail time is the goal. That way I will not be away from my family and not lose my job since I am a sole provider. Dod said, If agreed to the terms he presented me, I could possibly not serve jail time and keep job but it would ultimately be up to the judge at the sentencing date. The next court date was Sentencing which is the final step of the Preliminary Hearing. On 9/2022, we presented our case to the judge and I walked out of court with no jail time and retained my job to provide for my family. My loved ones, friends, and I could not have asked for a better outcome from the entire team at DODLAW. Dod is absolute professional! He has a unique very calming demeanor when you talk to him outside the court room and truly shines when in front of the judge. Dod’s passion and experience are impeccable.
