Troy Owens, a San Diego native, is the owner and sole attorney of The Law Office Of Troy P. Owens, Jr., A.P.C in Chula Vista, CA. Before earning his law degree, Mr. Owens gained experience in the criminal justice system by working for the U.S. Marshal’s Service Violent Crimes Task Force. Afterward, he focused on his legal education and earned his law degree from the University of San Diego, School of Law. Upon graduation, he spent time performing civil litigation for a large law firm and later accepted a position as a Public Defender for the San Diego County Office.

DUI stress reliever
Getting a DUI causes a lot of initial stress and a lot of unforeseen costs. After calling dozens of attorneys I felt Mr Owens was suited me best for what i needed. He was able to come up with a payment plan to help relieve some of the initial stress, i didnt have to go to a single court date, file any paper work, he did it all. I cant imagine how stress-full the situation would have been without him, he made it easy as hell. I hope i dont need an attorney again, but if i do it should be pretty obvious who i will be calling. Thanks Mr Owens.

So happy with my choice!
As my attorney, Mr. Owens was extremely professional. I consulted with a couple of different attorneys before hiring him, but Mr. Owens came highly recommended by professional and personal acquaintances. It's easy to believe that in his line of work, the ability to reach him as often as the random question or concern would pop up for me would be difficult. The exact opposite was the case. He was timely and precise in his responses, and able to keep my mind at ease through the process of my civil case. With his help, I was able to reach a fair outcome in mediation and avoid trial. Because of his professionalism, I would be comfortable recommending his legal expertise across the board as I know he specializes in more than civil law. I'm beyond happy with my choice to hire Mr. Owens and would gladly seek his help again in the future with any legal matters.

Mr. Owens was professional and organized throughout my whold case. He provided the judge with evidence to support his words. He provided me with details and answered my questions in terms that I could understand. I would definitely return for his services if I ever need him again.

Excellent Customer Service
Mr. Owens took the time to explain every aspect of the proceedings. He helped me in understanding the strengths and weaknesses of my case. When I had questions, he made himself available for phone calls, emails, and even text messages after hours. I walked away knowing a lot more about the law and I was very pleased with the result.

Self Defense
I was attacked and because I won the fight, I was arrested! Troy Owens was my attorney and he would not let me settle the case even though I wanted to. The offer from the DA looked good and I was avoiding jail, but Troy convinced me that my innocence and keeping a clean record was a lot more important. I'm so glad I listened to him and let him fight for me. I'm not guilty, I have no record, and its all because of him!

Not Bound Over!
The DA brought horrible charges against me just because of my past. I had to sit in jail and wait for a preliminary hearing. Troy was solid at the hearing. He brought up all of the officers mistakes and the evidence that the DA ignored. My case was not bound over and I was set free. I keep his card in my wallet now!

I got my CADL back!
I was in a situation where I needed to drive for work, but I couldn't get my license because of fines. I kept getting cited and prosecuted over and over for not having a license, but I needed the license to work and pay fines. Mr. Owens was able to pause the prosecution and get me time to get my license back. Now I have a license and the cases were dismissed. I can drive without worrying about my car being taken.

Best Attorney Ever
I was the victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I don't think I should have ever been charged for a crime, but the DA's office thought otherwise. Mr. Owens was passionate throughout my defense and the DA chose to drop the case because of everything that Mr. Owens was able to put together. He saved me from a conviction and I recommend him.

Case Dismissed
Troy worked very hard on my case. He confronted the prosecutors with all of the lies in their statements. The prosecutors didn't even want to go in court and face Troy because she knew that she would get hammered. So they dismissed my case. I would definitely hire Troy if I was facing a new case.

Glad he was in my corner!
Unfortunately, I was foolish and unlucky and found myself in a situation where I needed a lawyer. Not knowing where to turn, a friend referred me to Mr. Owens. I can't stress enough how much I recommend Mr. Owens. I was scared and inexperienced in the court system. He was professional, skilled, available and went above and beyond for me and my family. A Very Professional Attorney
Troy P. Owens esq. represented in a DUI case. Mr. Owens was actually working as a "PD" or Public Defended. However, his presence in the courtroom was very impressive and he acted with such professionalism and dedication that I felt that I had the very best attorney that I could have ever could get to represent me. His knowledge of law, combined with his experience and ability to present his arguments to the court, attracted the attention of everyone in the courtroom, including the judge. In fact, at one point the judge commented about Mr. Owens' Professionalism. The judge said that in his career, he had met only a few attorneys with virtues like those of Troy Owens. Do not hire
Do not hire him. I had a bit of a complicated DUI case and I was extremely upfront with him about it. He was very enthusiastic at first and said he would handle getting my DUI classes and Volunteering transferred to another state when I had to suddenly move, and get my driver's license unsuspended in CA based on my completing everything the court ordered. The second he got the payment that HE CAME UP WITH he was totally unresponsive. I had to get in touch with the court and they told me he had not provided them with what they needed, and when I told him that he was so rude and asked for more money. I had to hire another attorney and basically start all over. Save your money and hire someone else.

Ms. Moran, I am sorry to see that you are still upset after our disagreement two years ago. Having reviewed our representation agreement and your case file, my office was hired to do four things: recall a warrant that was issued a month before you hired me, get authorization to do a DUI class out of state, convert your public work service to volunteer work, and re-set fine payments that had defaulted. Those are the only things mentioned in our contract. We did all four of those things within weeks of being hired. You contacted my office to provide additional services and I gave you a price to handle those additional services. You opted not to hire my office for those services. I hope all is well and that you never need a criminal attorney in the future.
