Board of Nursing Representation

I hired Mr. Murphy because I had been accused of diversion and fired by my employer. An investigator from the BON called me and I called him as soon as I got off the phone with them. He explained how he bills by the hour and not by the case and how he felt confident that I could keep my license. I re...tained his counsel and he was on the case from early October until the end of January. During this time I provided him with all of the information that I could (and he asked for very specific information for me to acquire) and as an end result I retained my license without any sanctions. It was recommended by the board at the conclusion that I take very specific CEUs which I took immediately. Afterwards I received an email from Mr. Murphy with an itemized final bill and a notification of a refund of a portion of the monies that I paid to him. I am grateful for his service and hope to never have need of it again (I am keeping his number, however).

Truly the best!

Hiring Kevin Murphy was truly the best decision I have ever made. After a few nightmare experiences with criminal defense attorneys, I was skeptical of all attorneys. I believed that all attorneys only have one goal; to only line their own pockets, having no concern as to the outcome of those they we...re entrusted to defend. Kevin knows the ins-and-outs of how to protect your professional healthcare license. Without any previous legal issues or criminal history, I ran into an extremely serious legal situation and was convinced to take a plea by a criminal defense attorney after being told that it would not affect my license. Because I took this horrible advice, I know that without Kevins assistance when it was time to deal with the BRN, my situation could have negatively impacted or even caused me to lose my RN license. I first contacted Kevin with little time to spare until my license expired and I was in a complete panic, to say the least. I contacted him on a Thursday afternoon and my license was expiring 3 days later on Sunday. I first spoke with his sweet and extremely knowledgable assistant Kim who requested that I email any pertinent court documents right away for Kevin to review. She then scheduled a phone conference for me to speak with Kevin later that same day. As promised, he called at the arranged time having already read through the hundreds of pages that I had emailed earlier that day. He spent an hour on the phone with me as a free consultation. After asking me some important questions, I knew he was the one so he and Kim immediately dove head first into assisting me in protecting not only my license but my much loved career. Not leaving them much time, I was amazed to receive everything that I needed to submit to the BRN with my renewal by the very next day, on Friday afternoon. I still cannot believe the speed that they worked as well as the exceptional quality. As instructed, I attached the documents that he so brilliantly created to my BRN renewal and my RN license was renewed without any issue. Kevin is a legal prodigy and God forbid that I will ever need help again, I will never hire anyone else. Thank you Kevin and Kim for everything, will all my heart.

Highly recommend

I had an in-depth consult with Kevin Murphy about legal concerns. Kevin inspires confidence, he is very sharp and highly competent. Because my concerns were outside his area of practice, Kevin referred me to another firm. It was an excellent recommendation and I chose to hire them for services.

Straight shooter

Summary: Kevin was up front and honest in disclosing to me that he may not be able to guarantee better results from hiring him in my case. In our phone consult he gave me future recommendations and advice for me. Kevin is honest, aggressive, and respectful. I will be hiring him when i transfer my RN ...to California Long story: I am a new grad RN applying in NV. A couple years ago, before even the thought of nursing school, i was convicted of a DUI. The board of nurses would not let me test for the NCLEX until I signed what i thought was a stiff, excessive, and harsh "monitoring" agreement (with employment restrictions, 3 weekly AA's, therapy sessions etc) based on my past conviction that was already done and over in the courts. I was receiving little to no explanations from the BON for anything about the excessive stipulations in the agreement and felt like they had stamped me an addict and risk to the public. In the eyes of the board you are either %100 sober and drug free or you are stealing money from children to buy your next drink. There is no in between with them. I was beyond frustrated with the untimely communication, lack of concern, and distrust from the BON. I was blindsided by the fact that this was going to be a fight to get my license with no disciplinary attachment on my RN. In our phone consult Kevin clearly explained the whole process to me and was honest with his expectations for my case. It was great to hear that he had specific experience with the BON and that he represented cases like me. He actually informed me that he couldn't guarantee a better agreement with the BON if i had hired him. He respected the position I was in, being a broke jobless new graduate, and told me straight up. He even gave me some advice and strategies for the future in how to boost my character and image with the BON. I will absolutely be hiring Kevin when I plan on transferring my license to California.

Certitude is what you will get

Just by clear serendipity and providence was I introduced to Kevin Murphy. Upon receipt of an unsettling and threatening letter by the Board of Registered Nursing I consulted Kevin Murphy and Associates in November 2013. Initially I was referred to his mothers office in Las Vegas, NV. I retained ...Kevin's services for a period of over two years. He had been tenacious, patient, reassuring and was a champion at squelching an ever-present anxiety sparked by fear of an unknown outcome regarding my convoluted case. His advice empowered me to make more informed decisions regarding the Boards demands. I'll let you know, the Board of Nursing letter instructions were ambiguous, leaving me feeling doubtful, mentally paralyzed and practically feeble. In addition, they reassured me if I did not choose one of there disciplinary options (i.e. diversion) regarding my case, they would take a course of extremes. To make it more harrowing they gave a time bound restriction on my decision. Frightening! I want to say "Thank You, Kevin," for doing what you do. In my particular case, I made a decision in haste that I regret. Upon answering questions on my renewal license application I had an open court case that involved an arrest, with a pending, but unknown conviction. The question asks: "Have you been arrested since your last renewal?" I answered, "No." Now, I am not an advocate of lying and I am certainly not making an EXCUSE. I am simply stating the REASON I reacted in a "fear of loss" state of mind. A situation I wish to NEVER be face to face with again. I personally think it is an unfair question by the Board. Perhaps a more fair question: "Have you been convicted...etc." Kevin explained to me that this type of case doesn't happen all the time, however it can be rectified. What a relief to hear! Hearing Kevin's advice and listening to him evolve a plan instilled a calming certainty that allowed me focus on my God given talent as a nurse. Kevin has resolved my issue with 100% assurance. I could not have pleaded or prayed for a better outcome. Kevin also honors Veterans of the Armed Forces and this is a deal breaker for me. Thank you again for setting my mind free.
