I will be hiring him when i transfer my RN ...to California Long story: I am a new grad RN applying in NV. A couple years ago, before even the thought of nursing school, i was convicted of a DUI. The board of nurses would not let me test for the NCLEX until I signed what i thought was a stiff, excessive, and harsh "monitoring" agreement (with employment restrictions, 3 weekly AA's, therapy sessions etc) based on my past conviction that was already done and over in the courts. I was receiving little to no explanations from the BON for anything about the excessive stipulations in the agreement and felt like they had stamped me an addict and risk to the public. In the eyes of the board you are either %100 sober and drug free or you are stealing money from children to buy your next drink. There is no in between with them. I was beyond frustrated with the untimely communication, lack of concern, and distrust from the BON. I was blindsided by the fact that this was going to be a fight to get my license with no disciplinary attachment on my RN. In our phone consult Kevin clearly explained the whole process to me and was honest with his expectations for my case. It was great to hear that he had specific experience with the BON and that he represented cases like me. He actually informed me that he couldn't guarantee a better agreement with the BON if i had hired him. He respected the position I was in, being a broke jobless new graduate, and told me straight up. He even gave me some advice and strategies for the future in how to boost my character and image with the BON. I will absolutely be hiring Kevin when I plan on transferring my license to California.

Mr. Kevin Murphy assisted me in a very difficult and protracted conflict involving my R.N. license in California. It was a difficult and emotional situation for me as I've been practicing in the field of critical care for 32+ years and the thought of losing my license or censure of my ability to wor...k as an ICU nurse or a Flight nurse was a burden for me. I had a DUI and Kevin has been supporting me through the lengthy process of ressolution with the Board of Registered Nursing, he has helped me stay calm when I've felt completely at a loss and emotionally spent. I've been impressed with the attention to detail Kevin has shown, he'll find answers to my question, if he doesn't immeadiately know and get back with me 'asap', even after regular business hours. His calm approach to seemingly horrific issues help me maintain hope that I'll move through this complicated mess in one piece. Anything having to do with the government seems to take forever to resolve, having an advocate who knows the resources necessary to approach the specific problem gives me peace of mind. I'd recommend Keven Murphy without reserve. The first lawyer had 'years and years' of experience, but I was left out in the cold, my case was not handled in a timely and professional manner and I ended up having many more complications added to my case secodary to his lack of inititive in completing necessary steps. So, I'm pleased with the energy and enthusiastic way my case is being dealt with by Mr. Murphy, he may have fewer years of experience than my prior attorney, but he has done far more to help me.

I hired Mr Murphy to represent me in my petition to the Board of Registered Nursing in hopes of having my RN license reinstated. He knew I was still on criminal probation resulting from a DUI case at that time. In my initial consultation he told me he would investigate the potential for me to file a... petition for reinstatement of my license. After that investigation, he told me he had contacted the Attorney General's office and learned I would be able file that petition. I paid him a retainer to represent me. After completing 30 CEU's, obtaining a good number of personal references, and completing the petition application itself, all at his direction, he informed me that, after contacting the BRN, he learned he had been mistaken. In actuality the board wouldn't even entertain my petition until I was off probation. That was two years ago. The fruitless work his office performed resulted in charges that more than consumed the $1,500.00 retainer I had paid to him. He did, graciously, waive the fees in excess of that $1,500.00. I severed our attorney client relationship at that point. If he had thoroughly investigated my case, as he claimed he had, he would have learned it wouldn't be possible for me to file a petition at that time. That was two years ago. I have since been successful in having my RN license reinstated by my own efforts. I am not making unsubstantiated accusations. I'm merely sharing the facts. Mr Murphy did not deliver the services he initially claimed to me he could. What that amounts to is for the reader of this review to decide.
