Ann A. Gottesman

Ms. Gottesman is a great attorney, professional and personable. Here I would like to share all my experience having her as my attorney, which hopefully is helpful for others to find a right attorney. I got a false accusation against me and did suffer a horrible experience on this case because I got ...two attorneys who suck my money but didn’t do anything. After these two bad attorneys, I started “a journey” to find a real good attorney. I talked to dozens of attorneys. I was very carefully to choose attorneys because of the bad experience. Ms. Gottesman was the last attorney I contacted. In the first call with Ms. Gottesman, she did analyze the situation and gave a strategy after she listen carefully of my case. She also gave the price quote, which was a flat fee and quite reasonable price. Her kind and personable voice gave me a first impression that she was different with other attorneys I was talking to because it was a feeling that she is a person with sympathy. In the first place, she knew I was worrying and anxious when she heard the story. She also helped to appease my mind with her expertise. The second step, I carefully checked all the reviews of Ms. Gottesman on google, yelp and avvo. To my surprise that she had ALL five-star positive reviews on ALL the platforms. She’s got ALL five-star positive reviews in a career of 15 years. This is not easy to achieve. The third step, I must meet Ms. Gottesman in person before I decide to retain her. I met her in her office. She explained clearly to me not only the whole process but also how the system works. More importantly, Ms. Gottesman is very patient in answering my concerns. She also promised that my case can be solved quite soon based on the case facts. She’s very good at analyzing the case and finding my chances, which gives me confidence that she is the one who can help me to make the case dismissed quickly. During the case, she even offered more surprise. She kept me updated regularly. More importantly, she was proactive in talking to the city attorney. After getting the evidence from the court, she immediately found a time to talk to the city attorney. She pointed out the obvious evidence showing that I was false accused, which made the city attorney agreed to dismiss the case. After she talked to the city attorney, she called me immediately to tell me that the City Attorney dismissed the case. She said the official dismissal will appear in system until next court date, however, she wanted to let me know in the first place because she wanted me to stop worrying and have a good day. Then she also sent me the email regarding City Attorney case dismissal. It only used 3 days to make the case dismissed! She did the job fast and efficiently. Thanks Ms. Gottesman! I wish I met Ms. Gottesman from the beginning of my case. My former two attorneys spent a long time without making any progress. But Ms. Gottesman used 3 days to dismiss the case. You can’t imagine how big the difference is between attorneys! For me, who are new to such legal issues, the system is intimidating and tricky. Her professionalism and patience really gave me peace of mind. A good attorney can remedy your life. Lawyer is an occupation that’s the same as doctors, who can affect the life of a person. I believe there’re two important traits of a lawyer, one is professionalism, the other is caring so that she/he does not just look a case as money-making but changing a person’s life. Ms. Gottesman is an attorney who has these two traits in my view. If you need similar help, I highly recommend Ms. Gottesman. Besides, she charges reasonable, with no hidden fees.

Ann consulted with us on our daughter’s case and was very open, honest, and comforting. Our daughter was confronted by the police when she was in a park after hours, and was intimidated into giving consent for her possessions and car to be searched. The excessive search uncovered a tiny amount of pre...scription medication she should not have had. Ann explained to our daughter what her rights are and how to handle herself in that situation. She consulted with us several times on the case, and explained to us the worst case scenario, the best case, and what was most likely to happen. We discussed potential costs, which seemed reasonable. Ann represented me in a DUI case and I hired her after interviewing with four other lawyers. I immediately had a sense of relief after talking to Ann and felt more informed about what to expect than I did after speaking to 4 other lawyers. Ann seemed to geniunly care about me and my gut instincts are... usually correct. I found her fee reasonable and she gave me a fair payment plan that I was able to live with. I love Ann! I wish I could meet her in person to thank her for saving my friend's life! You see, I found out on a Monday, that my friend was being held at the Pasadena Jail. My friend did not know anyone around the area. My attorney friend googled Criminal law Defense and found several lawyers...s...omething about Ann that caught my attention was her previous public defender experience, so I knew that she had insider knowledge of the Pasadena court system. She went above and beyond. She showed up the same day that I called her to my friend's court appearance and got all the charges taken care of. She handled the case extremely professionally, especially considering that she only had a few hours to look at the case prior to the court appearance. She got my friend an extremely good plea bargain and out of JAIL!!! She explained the case and kept me updated. Another great thing about Ann is that she quoted me a flat fee so I knew there wouldn't be any surprise charges after. She was such a huge help when my friend and I didn't know anyone and handled the case better than we could have ever hoped for. I definitely recommend her services to anyone who is in legal trouble.

I was arrested for a DUI charge when stopped for no other reason then finding myself in a precarious position late at night. I was followed from a destination and drove all the way back to my residence, parked my car, then the police lit me up after finding no fault in my driving other than to make w...hat I (know) believe is still an erroneous claim. An officer claimed that I was going 40mph in a 25 zone. I hired Ann and with her help hired an expert and proved that the officer was either in gross error or purposefully lying. I still lost the DMV hearing due to what I (know) believe was incompetence. With the situation looking grim, Ann was still able to use the evidence from a second DMV hearing to convince the DA to reduce a DUI to a wet reckless on a .13 BAC, in a tough court. Even the judge was surprised at such a plea bargain. Ann charged $3,500 and worked for 7 months!! on my case. She answered/returned my phone calls after her regular 9-5 hours and on weekends, responded to all of my emails/text messages, and updated me on my case even when I did not inquire throughout the whole process. She got me a temporary license in the interim period of the battle, never ceasing to get a favorable outcome for me and make the process as painless as possible. Every step of the way she offered me insight and advice, even connecting me with another more-than-credible attorney who did not try to make a quick dollar out of me, but instead offered me their free consultations and sincerest advice about my situation. In the end, I decided to plea on the wet reckless instead of risking the loss of a fight in a climate of a less-than-fair justice system that appeared to be working backwards: basically finding evidence then looking for a way to make it stick, instead of asking, "how was the evidence found." Knowing that I had no legal recourse than to accept the wet-reckless, I realized just how favorable this outcome was, given the circumstances of my case. It is extremely rare to plea to a wet reckless in my situation, and Ann proved to be worth the money in avoiding a DUI charge on my now established criminal record. Although I wish the circumstances were different, and every individual case will vary, I made the decision not to go for a motion to suppress given the court I was working with. I feel I made the best choice (it essentially came down to gambling) and I know Ann did everything possible to gain the most favorable outcome with the cards we were dealt. I could not have asked for a better experience with an attorney. Ann has my utmost confidence and I whole-heartedly believe in her ability to perform the duties necessary and possible in any case she takes on. Her compassion, attention to detail, scrupulous attentiveness to the evidence and my thoughts on the case, availability, genuine concern for my well being, and overall willingness to do everything in her power to resolve the case in my favor proved to be worth more than what was paid to her. When an attorney stands by you for 7 months for a fraction of what such labor is worth, even if working a minimum wage job--and still gets you a favorable outcome--you know you have struck gold.
