At first I had considered representing myself for an unlawful detainer (eviction) case, but I am very glad I didn't. Even though I hired him last minute, Cyrus still came through to deliver a victory after going to trial. Cyrus was patient with me taking the time to make sure he understood the case w...ell, did his homework and consulted others to make sure he was well prepared for trial. It was also clear he had established a good reputation with several judges he had worked with previously giving him greater credibility than some unknown attorney or some attorney known to employ shady tactics. During the trial, Cyrus was totally on point. He had a many layered strategy and several defenses. Each defense was clearly laid out and he used case law to support some of the less clearly defined details of particular laws that were relevant to our case. Cyrus also did not let the other side get away with anything, winning many objections. I could tell the other side was frustrated with their lack of maneuverability and I was very glad he was on my side. Overall, Cyrus is very smart, knowledgeable and talented and I know he will go far. I feel lucky to have had him represent me. On a side note, he is also just a nice guy and easy to work with. If you are considering hiring Cyrus, I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Cyrus represented us in an eviction lawsuit. He knew the housing laws of California and Los Angeles extremely well, and was always ready to object to the plaintiff's claims or questions when Cyrus believed that they were not appropriate or not legal. He definitely had our interests in mind througho...ut his handling of the entire case, from start to finish. The plaintiff had 3 witnesses, and we did not have any--only me and my partner. We had evidence from surveillance videos and photos. But without presenting any of our evidence in the defense phase of the trial, he won the case by showing the point of the law and example of the law (case history). We won, and he was very patient with us, and very understanding, and very professional. In our opinion, this man is the best.

In one week I went from an initial conversation with Cyrus to a win on multiple fronts at trial. Jury voted unanimously in my favor. Cyrus dismantled the prosecutions primae facie case and then passionately articulated my case. I'm non-confrontational and did not foresee being in court against a l...ong-term landlord and his resident manager family member. Cyrus was sensitive to all of the nuances and the result is that my landlord is being held accountable for habitability issues that not only affect my apartment, but neighbors and the entire building. We're thankful to Cyrus for this win.
