During our 1st meeting we were told we could do a chap 13....save my home, paid the fee... sent all our back up... few months later was told we could not do a 13 but a 7.... had to pay again.... once we were release, found
out we had 2 incendents come up that were not completed... call and called many times and no return call till 8 mos later..... they were nice about it only because we complained to the right people... found another problem, something they should of done, it's marked so on the BR form...
Been trying to have someone call and explain why they missed this since the end of June.... it's now 10/27/16 they are playing dumb.... no one wants to fix what we call broken... need to make it right... but they don't want to go back to court to fix what they did not do....
Shop around and make sure you get someone who will return your call, even if your case is complete you will get a return call in a timely manner, from a caring attorney who promised you that if you had further questions you may call.
We paid twice for 2 chapters, you'd think they would taken care of us the 1st time if they knew what they were doing.
All nice at first and still nice today... but playing dumb with us... Our bank explained this to us and our loan company also did... they said the same thing, they both can't be wrong..plus my BK is also marked saying what the bank explained.. Ask all your questions before you pay!

I have worked with Mike for 4 years. He's easy to work with and gets things done. He has always treated me like his most important client and I know that can't be the case. I have recommended him and his firm, Shumway Van, to 10-20 people.

Michael Van was referred to me by a general contractor when I was in desperate need of advice 18 years ago. He and his firm has handled all of our company's legal needs since. During the downturn he handled a case which defended our position on a mechanic's lien for a very large sum. Our customer had filed bankruptcy and was demanding that we settle for pennies on the dollar. We were in serious jeopardy and Michael navigated us toward a successful settlement. We were the only ones in the case to get paid the full amount owed. Our business would not have survived otherwise.
