Michael Cary Van

I had the misfortune of hiring Michael Cary Van for my legal needs, and it was a disaster from start to finish. Communication was virtually nonexistent; I felt like I was talking to a wall every time I tried to reach him. My calls and emails often went unanswered for days, and when he did respond, it... was dismissive at best. His knowledge of the law seemed questionable, as he often provided me with incorrect information that led to costly mistakes in my case. It felt like I was more of a burden to him than a client. The lack of attention to detail was astounding—important deadlines were missed, and it felt like my case was a low priority for him. In the courtroom, his performance was equally disappointing. He appeared unprepared and seemed to lack basic understanding of the arguments we were supposed to present. I left feeling embarrassed and frustrated. Overall, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for legal representation. Save yourself the headache and find someone who actually cares about their clients. Michael Cary Van was an expensive mistake I wish I could take back.

During our 1st meeting we were told we could do a chap 13....save my home, paid the fee... sent all our back up... few months later was told we could not do a 13 but a 7.... had to pay again.... once we were release, found out we had 2 incendents come up that were not completed... call and called ma...ny times and no return call till 8 mos later..... they were nice about it only because we complained to the right people... found another problem, something they should of done, it's marked so on the BR form... Been trying to have someone call and explain why they missed this since the end of June.... it's now 10/27/16 they are playing dumb.... no one wants to fix what we call broken... need to make it right... but they don't want to go back to court to fix what they did not do.... Shop around and make sure you get someone who will return your call, even if your case is complete you will get a return call in a timely manner, from a caring attorney who promised you that if you had further questions you may call. We paid twice for 2 chapters, you'd think they would taken care of us the 1st time if they knew what they were doing. All nice at first and still nice today... but playing dumb with us... Our bank explained this to us and our loan company also did... they said the same thing, they both can't be wrong..plus my BK is also marked saying what the bank explained.. Ask all your questions before you pay!

Mike and his staff treat you like family. They kept me informed and stayed on top of my divorce case and preceding case that followed TWO years later. Mike and his staff never left me as a client in the dark to defend myself. They documented my case well for the judge so he had a clear picture of... the "bully" my ex husband is. They answered phone calls and emails in a timely fashion and helped me and my kids get our dignity back from such a devastating divorce. Although my case did not bring any money for them, they fought hard for me and my kids. The end result, was me getting awarded more than I thought. I attribute this to Mike and his staff staying on top of my case and presenting a well versed and documented presentation to the Judge. Mike has a rapport with the Judges in the system and was even well regarded by the opposing counsel. I highly recommend this firm if you want a caring, professional and affordable attorney.
