Absolute shark in his profession, knows law inside out and is like a fish in a water in court. I was able to finalize divorce in less than 6 months and Melvin achieved the impossible of getting me permission to move cross country with the kids in divorce decree. I hired Mr. Grimes 5 years ago or so to help me with a custody case. Although my other half was very difficult to work with, to say the least LOL, he did an excellent job & the court found in my favor. I keep the custody paperwork in a fireproof safe, since we are still together, hopefully it will co...ntinue gathering dust there. I should have posted this review long ago but I'm a procrastinator. I would highly recommend Mr. Grimes, he took care of everything involved in my case with extreme professionalism. I'm eternally grateful for his assistance with my family court dealings. UPDATE: Apparently it's a good thing I kept that paperwork in the safe......I had to drag it out again in 2023 and hire Mr Grimes once again! Once again truth prevailed and we won. I rest my case.

Doesn’t respond to clients. Files things late (including the afternoon of a hearing when the hearing was in the morning)! Doesn’t bother to familiarize himself with your case. Doesn’t file very crucial evidence properly so it gets thrown out in court. After you lose and your life is ruined at a trial... you don’t hear from him for two months. When it’s too late to appeal or anything! Doesn’t call witnesses that he says multiple times he wants added to the list of witness! I could go on and on about all the mistakes made that in turn cause us to lose our case and now have to pay the other party’s $30,000 in attorney fees! Only use this guy if you want to lose!

A rank amateur dilettante who claimed he couldn't stop a felony malicious prosecution case that lasted over 2 years, yet charged fees all the way throughout the ordeal. He kept trying to get me to agree to a plea agreement, but I maintained my innocence and the case was dismissed on that basis.... He didn't attend the last court date. Even though the whole legal system in Las Vegas can be quite corrupt, I couldn"t feel comfortable recommending this guy for traffic court.

When I first talked with Melvin he didn't sugar coat anything. I'm a 47 year old man going through a divorce, and child custody. My x-wife wrote false allegations of abuse on her, and my kids by me. What she wrote was so bad that I actually threw up while reading her statement. While I was in court without representation the judge wouldn't look at me or even give mr a chance to talk. I called so many lawyers trying to find one that actually cared. When I called Melvin Grimes he was easy to talk with, and never tried rushing me off the phone. He has gone out of his way for me in many different ways. He came to my house on a weekend to look at something pertaining to my divorce. He doesn't do the old school way that so many lawyers do. Hes always planning on how to show the judge that the allegations against me are false, and my x is just trying to get the judge to feel sorry for her. If your a man or a woman, and your going through a divorce. Melvin Grimes is the lawyer you need. Not those old school lawyers that will keep your case going on for ever until your finally emotionally sick, and broke.
