Biography
I am an Eagle Scout, class of 1990, and a lifetime member of the National Eagle Scout Association. I was the General Counsel for the Silent Heroes of the Cold War Memorial Committee while we built the Silent Heroes of the Cold War National Memorial which was opened May 29th, 2015.
I holds extensive experience in consumer bankruptcy law and debt collections law, wills/trusts/estates including probate, and represent individuals going through divorce and custody matters in family court.
In April 2014, I started his own firm, Devine Law Firm PLLC, with one other attorney and three staff members to shift the focus of his practice towards helping more individuals and consumers directly. In 2021, we changed our name to "Devine Legal Group", but we're still the same two attorneys leading the charge to represent clients in their personal and financial matters.
Prior to Devine Law Firm and Devine Legal Group, I was a named partner in the law firm of Rainey Devine. After joining Rainey Legal Group, which changed its name to Rainey Devine, I was critical in expanding the firm from two attorneys to a five attorney firm that handled both consumer and corporate work.
Prior to joining Rainey Devine, I was an intellecutal property associate attorney in the Intellectual Property practice group of Armstrong Teasdale, a nearly 300 attorney firm with offices throughout the country. During that time, I practiced exclusively in the area of patent prosecution in the electrical, computer science, and electro‑mechanical technology arts. I has drafted numerous patent applications and has successfully prosecuted and obtained multiple patents for such clients as General Electric, Washington University, and BHA Group. Other firm clients have included inventors from India, China, Scotland, England, and of course the United States.
While in law school, I worked for 2 1/2 years as a law clerk for a Las Vegas general practice attorney and gained experience in a multitude of practice areas, include civil litigation, family law, real estate, and self-insurance for worker’s compensation matters. I also managed the day-to-day operations of the attorney’s tax audit defense practice. Also, while in law school, I gained significant exposure to bankruptcy practice, while serving as a judicial extern to the Honorable Linda B. Riegle of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Nevada.
Prior to becoming an attorney, I was a technology consultant in the emerging Internet industry, and held various technical management and executive positions with multiple technology start-ups in and around Houston, Texas during the nineties. I use my technology experience to improve the efficiency of his practice and client communication.
