Michael A Harwin

This is one of the more interesting reviews that I have written. It is difficult to admit to a group of strangers that I found myself in need of a lawyer to defend me against a DUI. I will start by saying that Mr. Harwin was refereed to me by a business partner and he said “This guy is the best”. I... took it upon myself to reach out to a judge I know as well, and she also said that he is a real shark. With this in mind I felt confident that this was the right move. During the consultation I felt more like I was talking to a friend than a lawyer, but a very smart, straight shooting friend, who was going to do his best for me but always give it to me straight. With that in mind, Mr. Harwin told me I was in a bad spot, and would probably have to serve a jail sentence. (He did say he would get me house arrest instead to being behind bars) The cards were stacked against me, and because I had previously had a DUI this one could have turned into a felony, which we didn’t want to happen obviously. Even after this bad news I still felt like I was in the best and most capable hands, and it wasn’t exactly a shock, I already basically knew that information going into this. I decided to move forward. Lety, the real brains of the operation, was so great to work with, she was always a phone call away, quick with email correspondence, and always on top of everything. It was a pleasure having someone to deal with who was so on top of things. You can tell that Mr. Harwin and Her have been a team for 25 years. I don’t want to bore everyone with a play by play of the entire court case so let me sum things up for everyone. I had a tough case, and was expecting to get the best possible outcome, which would probably still involve a guilty plead. Mr. Harwin never gave me any false hopes, and told me he would work hard to do his best and always guide me on what he thought the best course of action would be. After many months of waiting I was called one day and told that my entire case had been dropped and I was a free man, no fines, no fees, and jail, and NO GUILTY VERDICT. I am not suggesting that every case will end this way with Mr. Harwin, but after the experience I have had with him and Lety, I truly believe that he is the best at what he does, and that is only possible because he works so diligently with Lety who is the best at what she does. This team is unstoppable in my opinion, and I would trust them full heartedly with any future issues for myself or anyone else I know. If you are unfortunately in need of someone like Mr. Harwin, then I would say you would be fortunate to have HIM in your corner. P.S. You better treat Lety well, she deserves nothing but the utmost respect and kindness, and if you don’t I am coming for you!

When I first hired Michael Harwin he was honest and up front with me about our chances with my case. I had multiple charges, most of which he was able to get dismissed or lessened, where I served minimal jail time and paid reduced fines. On a case that I lost with an incompetent attorney I originally... hired, Mr Harwin appealed it over and over again, with new and creative strategies each time, for as long as I was willing to fight it. When all my legal troubles were finally resolved, Mr Harwin refunded the unused portion of my retainer because he didn't have to work as hard as he thought! WOW!! Michael Harwin is a genious in the courtroom, confident, and funny. He is always pushing for the best possible outcome, not afraid to fight. He is hard working and always returns phone calls. I have recommended him to family, friends and colleagues, and he worked on their cases with the same dedication and expertise I saw in mine, and always with great results. He is compassionate and personable with a great sense of humor and really cares about his clients. It is 19 years later, and I still touch base with Mr Harwin now and then just to let him know I'm doing well. He is always genuinely happy to hear from me and an absolute pleasure to talk to. I highly recommend him as a brilliant attorney and an outstanding human being!

Almost a year and a half ago our 18-yr. son had a dangerous single-car accident that involved the police. Soon that was followed by drug problems which led to charges of domestic violence and criminal damage. The situation seemed overwhelming and we knew we needed the best lawyer possible. A fri...end who is a top attorney in Tucson recommended Mike Harwin. We looked Mike up and saw that he had an excellent resume. We called him and he met with us right away. Mike was friendly but professional, understanding but firm with our son and it was clear he was the right choice. We were concerned that the best could be unaffordable but he laid out his excellent prices and we accepted them and he got to work immediately. A year and a half later we couldn’t be happier with Mike and his results. Throughout the process he fought for our son at every turn. He was right there when we needed him and he always knew the right thing to say at the right time and he even advised us on matters that weren’t involved with the case. We’d be in tough situations and Mike would call us out of the blue to offer advise and reassure us. He was so generous with his time and expertise that we felt we owed him more than our original financial agreement but he wouldn’t accept additional payment. It hard to imagine how difficult this process is. Mike’s legal skills and the relationships he has with people in the legal system are critical, but his empathy and manner are invaluable when you feel your son’s world is crashing in around him. We feel so lucky to have had Mike defending our son and supporting our family. He always listened, was compassionate and helped us through some of our lowest moments. In the end we got an excellent legal outcome: the accident records were expunged and the domestic violence charge was dismissed.. We’ll never forget what he did for our family…

I was stopped for a DUI and felt that my life had ended. I had actually pulled over and went to sleep because I was feeling unable to drive, but the officers didn't take that into consideration at all. I was so confused as what to do next. I went online and started doing some investigation. What... I found out scared me. This situation could've cost me a lot of money and possibly my job. I read a lot of reviews on lawyers and decided to make some appointments. I went to see Michael Harwin and then cancelled all the other appointments. He was very easy to talk to and he was honest and upfront about the situation. He told me the best way to proceed then kept me informed along the way. Whenever I had questions or concerns, I would e-mail or call him and receive prompt, honest answers from either himself or his assistant. About a month into the case, I received a letter saying the case was dismissed and called him. He explained that the case could still be re-opened. I appreciated the honesty. I received a call from him the other day (4 months later) to give me info. about MVD and he told me my case was dismissed for good. It can't haunt me anymore! I was so relieved and I felt that I could breathe again! I am so glad that I hired Michael. I was concerned at first about spending the money on a top-notch lawyer, but his rates were not that bad especially when you consider the money he saved me. And he gave me back my life!
