Alicia helped us with my immigration process. Starting from the appointment schedule sometimes she herself would answer the phone instead of the receptionist. Then the time she spends on listening to your case and opinions is more than you imagine. She takes all the details and remembers about it. Th...e way she explains makes it easy to understand instead of sticking to the Lawyer vocabulary were you would say yes and go home and have no clue of what just happened. She has a busy schedule but when she's on your case she's only into yours. Easy to reach by phone or email for any questions. Even if she has a load of cases she manage to answer your doubts. My wife and I found it was necessary to remove our granddaughter from her mother's custody. Her father passed away when she was 12, and her mother had issues with substance abuse. We tried to get custody at that time however the Children's Aid Society in Ontario determined that she would be better ...off with her mother even though her father had a court order restricting the mother to supervised visits. After 4 years of trying to get her a passport so that she could visit with us we finally were able to take our granddaughter to Disneyland, Universal Studios and Sea World. We had to return her home after two weeks. During this time we recognized just how bad a state she was in - she even called her mother's drug dealer in our presence to ask him to get drugs for her mother - she was totally spaced out and hallucinating. After returning her back home we kept in close contact, letting her know how she was loved and that she was worth helping. She finally agreed to come and live with us. I went back to Canada, had her mother served with a custody agreement and finally convinced her mother to sign the agreement as it was in the best interest of her daughter. Since Childrens' Aid turned children away at 16 and the Ontario government allowed 16 year old children to live on their own it was obvious to her that our granddaughter was leaving her home. At the time we had just filed for our citizenship. Unfortunately once children are over 16 they cannot be adopted and sponsored by family members. We were able to bring our granddaughter into the US on a 6 month visitor visa (thanks to some excellent agents at the border in International Falls, MN) and then extend that by getting her a student visa. It was while she was with us that we found that our granddaughter was engaging in self-harm (cutting) and was extremely depressed. What kid would not be given all of the trauma in her life. We were finally fortunate to find Alicia - she found a way to get our granddaughter through the system and expedite the green card process. Less than six months after we started our granddaughter received her green card. After a year and a half of counselling and psychiatric help and excellent support from her teachers our granddaughter no longer has thoughts of hurting herself, has recognized that she is important, and has an opportunity to build herself a new life in the United States. We owe Alicia a big thanks for all she has done. She comes highly recommended. I would give her 6 stars if that were possible,
